So I'm very new to cigars. I did the 24hr salt method in a Ziploc bag. Digital hydrometer is at 70%. Can I just assume it's at 75% and just use it and always remember it's 5% under? Or no because it means its not calibrated at all?

While your digital hygrometer may be reading 70% humidity, assuming it's consistently 5% under and adjusting accordingly might not provide accurate readings in the long run.

Hygrometers can sometimes be imprecise or require calibration, especially if they haven't been properly calibrated, or if they've been subjected to extreme temperature or humidity conditions.

To ensure accurate readings, it's best to calibrate your hygrometer using a reliable method before relying on its measurements. If you need some help with calibration, let me know and I can put together a simple guide.

Cheers!

Hey yes. Can you please post your guide? My hygrometer has been saying 65-69 sometimes falls to 63, and cigars are starting to flake or unwrap when I cut em
