Blind Box Pass, the original

he said he filled the packs up but a day later in a sealed bag they are flat again.

They were still in the ziplock freezer bags when I sent them out, and the water pillows still had plenty of water in them. The cigars that I took were in excellent shape. I hope everything is ok with the box.

Yes, I put the Oliva in. :)

Everybody have a Happy New Year!

I just got an e-mail from Syntax. He said that the box will be sent out on Mon. because of the holiday.
No worries, he put in new pillows.

I'm sure that there are no problems and the box will continue on......just slightly delayed.

If anyone wants it, I have his e-mail. He said that I should post it but I'd rather do it by PM.

Tonight was the first time I have read this post all 17 pages. The fun, the excitement, the intrigue, the horror of it all!!!!. Sounds like fun. I'd like to play next time you all do this. :D

I didn't see or hear either making any deliveries today. But then again, we're being hit with a lot of rain so I didn't really go out today.

I guess DD was supposed to talk to him via AIM, but I haven't heard from him. I want to know if I should be expecting!!

I just e-mailed him again. As soon as I hear from him, I'll let you all know.

Is Syntax coming back? Will he be allowed to return or is he gone forever? I miss him, and would hate to not see him again.

sorry bp, hes not coming back, that big ol meany. i hope i never talk to him again for what he did.

ill talk to him tonight and beat why he hasnt sent the box out yet out of him.

Well, I'd hate for the rest of the group to miss out on the pass.

The box is half way through it's course, 8 players down, 8 to go.

I dont know if you can even answer this, but, what did syntax do, to get banned for life? I saw the Key board thing, but I guess I missed the link. Was that It or did i really miss something big. I'm just curious and don't want to mess up, and get banned myself.

Jess,

I was out of town during the carnage, but from what I have heard/read the member in question had a problem/disagreement over forum policy and got into an arguement over it. There are plenty of online forums that allow things to happen on them that unbeknownst to those in charge, expose the forum and the forum owners to legal liability. Amback/Cigar.com forum has a very knowledgable lawyer who is a member of the staff. He has helped craft our forum policy so that we do not get into those kinds of problems.

Different forums here have specific things that are geared towards that forum. For example, here in the Cigar area, discussions about cigars produced by a certain country that is on our governments import ban list. The mere discussion of a cigar is not a board no-no, but if you start discussing how to get them or where to order them, your posting will get pulled. If you then act immature about the staff member following forum policy and either argue with the staff/admin or go posting complaints all over the forums you will risk your participation on the forums being ended (banned).

That sucks, Syntax was a good kid. Can we sart a petition to get him back? He's just a hot headed kid and didn't know any better.

Bob,

The admin who he argued with and banned him does not spend time in the cigar area, so they had no idea of the box pass or any concerns like that.

Phish,

You can do whatever you like, but I think it would be a waste of time. Unfortunately, some people burn bridges when they go down in flames. There is a lesson to be learned here, and that is that if you are contacted by a staff member concerning a problem it is not wise to argue or act immature about it. Life is full of rules and one must follow those rules, or face the consequences of those actions. If a person can not accept and follow the rules, the proper choice is to go elsewhere.

The owner and staff here appreciate all the members and their participation, but the forum policies are there for everyone's protection. Those policies are applied equally to everyone. I can attest that even as a member of the staff I have been contacted by an admin and have had posts pulled/deleted because they stepped over the line.

Mike,
No sweat, just wanted to voice my displeasure with the departure of the forum member. I think most people liked him but we can respect the wishes of the owner and mods alike to make this place work as well as it does.
