Ok i have a brain teaser/ "trick question" for you guys (and gals) . The first person to get the answer might get a nice little package mailed to them
Here it is...
Rick saw this SIIIICK humidor for $97. He borrowed $100...$50 from Roy, and $ 50 from Bubba, and bought the humidor. He has $3 left...gave one to Roy so he owes him $49 now, and he gives $1 to bubba and owes him $49 now too. Rick has $1 left.
49+49+1= 99 what happened to the extra $1?
All the dollars are accounted for.
The guy who sold the humidor to Rick has 97 bucks
Rick has a buck
Bubba has a buck
Roy has a buck
That made my head hurt!
It seems like you both have a part of the answer...or maybe i was looking for a specific explination...either way ill give u both "partial credit"
Since you both kinda got it, ill consider you both winners...webesmoked give me ur address
Audrey....stop winning my sh*t...i have ur address memorized by now...and common man, u think u could have won this BEFORE i mailed out ur part of the box split (might have been hard, since i mailed it out and then made this post...but who cares)
Anyway here is the full answer.
There is no missing dollar. The $1 and the $98 have nothing to do with each other. The $98 is the amount you owe your friends, and the $1 is the leftover change from your purchase.
You bought the humidor for $97, borrowed $100, leaves you with $3 change. By paying Roy, and Bubba $1 each you reduced you $100 debt to $98...The $1 is the left over money you borrowed
This brain-teaser had my co-workers neglecting their jobs all day. I actually figured it out right away, but i love brain-teasers, i actually would do LSAT games with my girlfriend when she was studying for her LSATS...that was my idea of a good time
