Cigar Trade Christmas (Holiday) Mystery Gift Exchange

Kelvin, you should have mine from the Xikar buy. If not then let me know in this thread and I will PM it to you. Thanks for doing this, I'm stoked.

THE PM'S ARE ALL OUT!!!

Check your in-boxes folks. Remember to keep it a secret from your recipient - I will announce the matches when all have arrived. Maybe you can post what you received with a guess about who your secret giver was.

Happy Shopping!

- Kelvin

I wasn't involved in last year's exchange. But from reading your post, and lack of coffee this morning, are we NOT to include a return address?

Last year we tried to keep it anonymous - if you can do it give it a try. If you can't - not much we can do about it, right?

How does everyone feel about it? I am cool either way.

Hmmm - it looks like Kelvin is putting his address but someone else's name - nice try Kelvin!

You know I'm not that smart - but obviously you are Cybrus ..hmmmmmm - gotta watch out for you. You are like Dr. Evil.

Muwahahaha!

Okay, good point by Barcocrhis....no return address could make it tough for a return if it doesn't reach it's destination correctly.

Any thoughts before someone mails out? Anyone? Bueller?

I agree.

Please include the return address. I'd hate for precious cigars to go missing and have no return address.

Just don't look at the return address. I like that we kept it a secret last year. It's more fun that way.

That works for me, Brenda.

I will have my assistant black out the label on the boxes ..errr. box I get - what if we write on the box Amback Christmas/Holiday Exchange so we can avoid looking?

ok... so i put on the return address but i dont include my name on the return address?

so if bob smith who lived on 100 main st in Bigtown USA had me to send a gift to he would put his address down as

100 Main St
Bigtown USA
(zipcode)

and thats it?

at what point are we all finding out who got what from who? am i supposed to include a note or what?

or am i totally misunderstanding whats going on here?

i know im slow and all...

No note in the box. No name on the box.

Kelvin will let us know who had who.

how about everybody just use my address as the return address, that way noone will know who it really came from, but atleast it would get returned somewhere if it was lost and then i would ofcourse just post what got returned and we'd know who sent it

I like the central return address idea. At least it will go to someone we know and they will be able to get it back out.

If we also use a form of tracking we will be able to make sure it reaches its destination.

That is a great idea - I am for it if that is okay with everyone. I am fine with using Matt's addy since all of the boxes are coming here anyway. LOL!

What if I post who gifted to whom after the last gift is accounted for?

Let me know!

Wont the post office think it's weird that the return address is different than the zip code it's actually being sent from?

I don't want to raise any flags of supposed suspicious activity. Call me paranoid.

Sorry about that, I didn't really think about it. Uggggghhhhh - I am so confused! I would go with your address but no name - and hopefully people will try and keep it a surprise.

I like the idea of writing "AMBACK XMAS XCHANGE" or something on the box. Something that will immediately draw your attention away from the return addy.

i think the addy with no name should be good... just dont cross refrence it with the "location" we give on the forum. If you didnt look at that for all you know im from alaska.
