I was asked to play in a golf tournament, this weekend.
I do not play golf (think I was asked for comic relief) which is ok, I'll have a good time any way.
I need help in picking a cigar for golf (18 holes) I enjoy LGC's, Padrons, CAO Brazilla, Rocky Patels and such, normally I stick with a size around a Robusto.
Please advise on a cigar and size for a day on the links.

Now for the contest, like I said I don't play,
So the member who comes closet to my score for 18 holes will win a sample of the suggested smokes.

Three guesses per member
We tee off Saturday at 1:00 cst
Cut off will be 12:00
I will try and post results Sunday morning.

Good luck and enjoy I know I will.

I'll guess my typical score for 18 holes....

Cigars notwithstanding, good luck and have fun.

(With scores like mine, you should bring a humidor and enjoy yourself.)

Okay, Skip.

For the cigar suggestion - first make sure you have a stick that can stand up to the abuse - because you end up not paying enough attention to the cigar. I have actually found that a Sol Cubana Maduro is a pretty well constructed stick for the course. I normally go with a larger size than a Robusto because the round will last you quite awhile - tournaments normally over 5 hours. Just make sure it's a stick that doesn't need to much attention. I wish I knew earlier - I would have sent you one of my golf clips - those things are invaluable!

I am going to guess a 120. Like you said - you don't play golf but I am thinking you are going to have a good start. Enjoy the round, the smokes and the laughs. That's what golf should be about.

I usually take my 10 count otterbox, and put it in the side pocket of my golf bag. If you are really not much of a golfer, you may just get to enjoy smoking 2-3 nice cigars while enjoying nature in a park-like setting....ahhhh, relaxation! And of course, a few mooks who do not "really" smoke cigars will want to bum one, so bring a few you won't mind giving away.
Have fun!

GREAT POINT!!!!!! He is dead on with that one!

RMR - anytime you want to venture to the top of the state to play - let me know!

I also would suggest you bring a travel humi with sticks you would not mind sharing with a non smoker. It will be a great time good friends good smokes good times.

Have a great time

I'm mostly a hacker, picked up a nice set of used clubs 2 years ago, Titleist irons and GBB Hawkeye woods, and an old Ping putter. But, I enjoy getting out in the open, swinging, goofing, smoking... makes me feel carefree, like a kid again, y'know?

I can spell "road trip", Kelvin, for sure. I have a demo vehicle from work, so all I have to do is put fuel in it. I'm down!

For the cigar, I would suggest something middle-of-the-road, not high-end but not crap either. Cigars tend to get "ignored" when golfing, at least for me, and I hate wasting a premium smoke on the golf course.

I would also select something "long", like a churchill or double corona. I tend to set it down and forget about it for a while, teeing off, on the green, etc. I don't get to smoke too much of the shorter cigars.

Also, pick one that burns well. They tend to go out alot on the course.

As far as your score, if you're complete freakin' hack and you count all your strokes, you'll shoot about:

132
127
122

It depends on the difficulty of the course. But as long as you're golfing and smoking a good cigar, it doesn't matter :D

Have a blast!!!

(assuming you're playing at a regulation course)

I played last night, but my score for that PAR 3 course (18 holes) would seem to be for a regulation course.

At least thats about what I do. I like CAO Blacks while golfing. Since I'm in the navy, I play courses on base a lot. One time me and my golf buddy were smoking CAO blacks and some dumb officer had the nerve to ask if we were smoking macanudos... We just laughed at him.

I know nothing of Golf -
But 3 guesses -
101 - 111 - 133
Have fun that is by far the most important thing.

Bring a cigar clip if you ahve one so you can clip the cigar to
the cart or your clubs while you swing!
