What I don't understand is, if this guy isn't going to be shipping the item, why the hell does he care if the bidder had more than 5 transactions. Seems like a good way to not get it sold to me. Sounds like he alreday had a sale too but turned it down because they had no transactions previously.

No, it sold, but the bidder never came to get it. Thats why he wants to see at least 5 transactions, to show positive feedback.

If he is only interested in someone local he shoud have put it on craigslist.com Man I waste tons of time on that site. Buy and sell just about anything.

i love craigslist, ive been checking every day for a freezer, when i find one for the right price i email them and either its already sold or i tell them i will be by after work to check it out and its gone by the time im off. maybe ill forget the freezer and focus on getting a ping pong table.

Yeah craigslist is great. I pretty much stopped dirtying my hands with printed classifieds once I found that site.
