Crash -

Just hope you done have to wind up going the rout as me a 2K comp. i coulda baught a hell of alot of cigars with that!

Not sure what happened?
But today it fired up and is working fine :?:
Nothing I did yesterday would get it to turn on - just silence and a black screen?
But now I am back :p

Maybe... hmm... I dunno... Your PC just needed a rest perhaps.

Are you SURE you tried turning on the PC yesterday? Or just sat and stared at the screen thinking you did turn it on?

My kids computer will do that if I ever have to unplug it. Acts like it's dead, no power at all. After punching the button for a few minutes and playing with the power cord, it will come back to life. Wonder if the power supply might be going bad?

 :? Don't know - but my computer guy is coming to the house Monday so he can give it a once over?

I was going to try and help you out here by trouble shooting it, but since you have a guy coming that is best. Nothing like having a set of eyes on it.

Cheers

Sounds like Power Supply to me too. Check out tigerdirect.com. they have excellent prices and good blowouts on stuff like that.

Good luck brother, we have all been there at one time or another.

If you have a Dell you can’t just go to your local computer shop and pick up a power supply. It is proprietary to Dell. You will either have to go to an authorized technician or order directly from Dell (which is what the technician will do). Anyway you will be sent a refurbished one at the same price as a new one even if you request a new one.

That is exactly why I just build my own. You will pay a little more, but you can chose your performance level and quality, and if something goes wrong you get to yell at yourself!!

My home has 5 computers all networked together.
We keep a center hub that has 2 hard drives one just for storage.
Misa & I both have a lap top and I have this computer I am on as well
as a seperate computer for business. Then I have a guest house that my tenat has to computers online.
My Cyber Saint (Brian) built the network & mantains it.
He is seriously good with the Robot People - I know nothing.
Maybe even less - but rarely have any problems of any kind.
The only bad thing is Brian lives 2 hour away & is always busy.
Repairs can take a week, but they are far and few between.
Thankfully there are enough Robots to get what ever needs to be done done!
OK that is my computer post!
Enough about Robot People!

My home PC just started working again afer a year on the fritz and getting fixed multiple times. So I go to try and get online with my new netzero account; no dial tone. I hooked the same line up to my phone and i can get a dial tone. I have no idea whats going on. I am so pissed. :fire:

If your computer has been sitting awhile you also might try opening it up, airdusting it out...then pull the modem card out and put it back in...sometimes the contact is just poor...dust and what not....I always try the least expensive choices first :D

Id check the power button cord where it attaches to the mother board. Just a guess though. Ive had that problem before especially after its been moved
