Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but things aren't going to great around here right now. I had a bombshell dropped on me last Wednesday (9/27).

Went to work and found out that "Because of the continuing decline of the Michigan economy . . . (blah, blah, blah) . . . requires us to take significant actions . . . (blah, blah, blah) . . . to reduce costs due to declining revenues . . . (blah, blah, blah).

Bottom line: I'm out work.

The company decided that because the Michigan economy was so bad, they would help it out by putting 82 more people on the unemployment line. Geniuses.

Anyway, the family and I are coping the best we can. I'll be updating the old resume and hitting the job-hunting bricks once again. Hopefully, it won't be too long before I'm back on the job somewhere.

The one bright spot is I have more time to smoke cigars :wink:

I am so sorry to hear it. There are few things more rough on a guy than losing his job. Michigan is really having some hard times these days, but hopefully things will turn around before too long. Will definately drop a prayer for you and your family with the Big Guy upstairs.

Good luck dennis. I just had my best friend of 25 years move to Floriday because of our crappy economy.

I just found this Dennis, and my jaw dropped. I am sorry to hear this, and hope it all works out. Sometimes this kind of thing just means that you are needed more some place else.

Hang in there brother, and like my two compadres said, we've got your back!!
 
I am very sorry to hear that Dennis. I do hope that you end up in better shape because of this, may not seem too bright at the moment but don't let that get you down. My best wishes to you.

Michigan is not really the best place these days huh?
 
Well, it took exactly one month to the day, but I'm employed once again!!! I went on a job interview on Thursday that was supposed to last 30 minutes. It ended up being and hour and 15 minutes. While I was driving home from the interview they called me on my cell and offered me the job. Hooray!

I celebrated last night with an Choix Supreme and a Opus xXx!

I want to thank everyone for their prayers and good thoughts. It really meant a lot to me and my family during a tough time.

It certainly was that, I was smoking 2 or 3 a day. Time to start refilling the humis.

Congrats Dennis! I just wenth through that myself over the summer. Took me about 3 months to get employed though. I am glad it worked out for you!
