DevilDog/Iraq Care Package Thread

I agree with you.

Send him the White Owls while his wife smokes the ESG's.

Seriously though, if you use those heavy reinforced cardboard along with a bunch of water pillows, then I think the package should survive the trip.

If you need donations to buy the heavy duty cardboard/cooler, let me know. Jeff and his group can NEVER have enough cigars.

Good enought for me. I might look at trying to find a 50 ct Cigar caddy and take the inserts out

Barcochris -- please let me know what size Jeff's daughter is. We have a 3yr old daughter that is actually running true to size. Depending upon Jeff's daughters size, we have lots of clothes (some have never even had the tags taken off, much less worn!).

Need to know what size Top, Bottom, and Shoe size. I could dang near fill a closet for her if she is smaller than Ariel!
I was thinking, instead of getting stuff for his daughter I'd just get a gift certificate at Target. I checked online and there are a few in Oceanside. I know my sister (who just had a kid) already has tons of clothes for the baby. This way Dayna can buy what she wants/needs.

I agree - a gift certificate would probably be better. Any other stores besides target that would be good?

sears might be good too. they have just about anyting you could want there.

I was thinking about getting his wife something like an american express card, and his daughter a gift certificate to say a toys 'r' us.

What if we sent him a cooler? Knowing how generous this forum is, I think a 50ct cigar caddy would be pretty small, even if it is just the cigars sent to Iraq. I doubt that the'd be able to damage a cooler in the mail, and he'd then be able to store a good anount of cigars while he's there, no?

Brenda --

My thing is that since I have a daughter who is just over 3, we have a bunch of clothing that is brand new and has never even had the tags removed from them. With that being the case, why should they sit in a bag waiting to see if one of my wife's friends has a daughter, or handing them down to someone else.

We don't donate to goodwill, because around here, they put it into a store, and SELL it (and alot of the workers are known to take the nicer items before they ever hit the shelves!).

I was thinking gift cards. Toys R Us for the little one and Barnes and Noble for DD's Wife. Any objections?

That makes sense.

I always go for gift cards because I hate shopping.
