just read that you should not do the salt test to digital hygrometers
it can mess up the "insides" and will void the warranty has any one else read this? Ive got 2 that ive done the salt test to and I know everybody else here uses it just wondering if any one has ever had a problem doing the salt test to a digital hygro.

thanks

While salt water can have a negative effect on a solid state board the time it takes to do a salt test is not a problem unless you plan on putting salt water directly on the board. The sensor used in a digital hygrometer is also sensitive to salts again if you not going to touch the salt to it I would not worry. The warning sounds more CYA then anything else. If you do not want to do a salt test there are humidity test kits you can get from instrument supply company's that do not use any salt.
