This one was a gift from a friend, 7 1/2x50 size, and must've spent at least two years in my humidor. At one time when I was keeping a Top Ten favorite cigars list, this was No. 2, spending a long time at No. 1 and then getting edged out by the Diana Silvius Churchill.

It's hard to say what place it would occupy now, probably very high. I can see all the Kyoobin Cigar Snobs  out there in The Bloofy Bowl, along with all the other cigar smokers who can't stand anything mild roaring with laughter and sneering in their beer. Hey, maybe that could be a new brand, Sneer Beer, for the contemptuous among us all!!! :D

Anyway, you might wonder how a nearly flavorless cigar could possibly have anything left after about two years in Desk Top I. Yes, Desk Top I is not only the most temperamental of my humidors when it comes to keeping proper humidity, but it was in the BOTTOM of the humidor. Gasssssssssssssssspppp!!!

Despite a tight draw up until about the halfway point, the cigar was delicious, bringing me back to the days when I first discovered this brand, and when I could actually afford to buy them. Although they are no longer made, there are still plenty left in the world.

It was a great combination of buttered white toast with herbs, maybe basil and thyme, all the way through. After the first half's bad draw it was really pleasant the rest of the way through. I smoked it from 1714 hours to 1854 hours. It probably wouldn't have taken so long with a better draw and at one point I did allow it to go out when I was distracted by some matters involving my checkbook and a calculator. Although it was already down to the nub, I relit it for a last blast of beautiful flavors, capped off by a deep, rich, earthy note. What a great ending!!! Fine cigar. Expensive, but worth it, . . .

if you like smooth, mild, Girly Man Cigars, . . .

like me.

    :p  :D   :?
