THanks Kuzi, PM sent.

Now let me think of something really fun...... <sinister laugh, while clutching hands>

stay tuned!!!

OK, here we go, this is another music fun and games. Good luck!

In the summer of 1982, Stevie Ray Vaughan was asked to play "Blues Night" at the annual Montreux Jazz Festival in Montreux, Switzerland. Stevie put on a fiery performance with classics like "Pride And Joy" and "Love Struck Baby." Every song Stevie played was greeted by an increasing wave of boos and hisses and he left the stage bewildered and heart-broken.

In attendance at the festival were two well-known figures in the world of music who would prove instrumental in Stevie's rise to stardom: ______________ and _______________.

The first person gave SRV the opportunity to record, for free at his own studio, where he cut and recorded Texas Flood.

The other person had him perform on one of his hugely successful album and tour as a guest guitarist.

This is a really tough one, so hints will follow. Happy guessing...

the fist cat is John Hammond
and the second is the thin, white, duke David Bowie(SRV solos on China Girl)

rmr, your half right. he did play and tour with David Bowie, however there was someone else that let him record Texas Flood out of their studio, not John Hammond.

Oh STP....
from Wikipedia:
More popular than any blues album in nearly twenty years, Texas Flood was a surprise success for Vaughan, who had labored in obscurity for years. The album was recorded in only three days, at David Bowie's personal recording studio, in 1982 since the band had been playing many live sets beforehand

The other guy I think you are looking for is Albert King

Am I right?

Dagnabbit!

I was just about to edit my post and change to Mr. Browne, wouldn't be "cricket" though.....
:fire:

allright, Converse got BOTH people correct first, therefore the winner of this post. PM me your addy.

Rmr, I got to hand it to you, I thought the David Bowie part would be the hardest and you nailed it pretty quickly, however I needed to see both answers. Sorry brother.

clikc on new releases and the article is right there.

OK so the question of the moment:

Los Angeles Dodger J.D. Drew hit his first major league home run against this team. Name the team.

Well you're correct in the sense that it was against Cincinatti, but Big Mac hit his 62nd on September 8th which was J.D. Drew's debut as a Cardinal against the Chicago Cubs. Remember the whole Sammy Sosa huggy thing in celebration?

Sept. 9th was J.D.'s first home run against Cincinatti.

Great job though. PM the addy Motion

Still up for grabs. Today is Sunday, two guesses today. Whats wrong guys, nobody want my cigars? Am I that bad a trader?
