Hello, I am Scott from Warren, OH. Originally from Pittsburgh. Been a 'lurker' on the forums for a few weeks now and now a user. This is a smaller board than most of the other forums out there, but the content is 'spot on' and there seems to be little or no fighting, name calling, and flaming on this board.

As for me, I am 30 years old, a mechanical engineer that works for a company that build steel making equipment. A golf, NASCAR, and volleyball nut. Or so says the little lady.

And since I told you almost the rest of my life story.... been a cigar smoker for about 5 years. Here in my area, we have several VERY cigar friendly bars. Anybody in the area, I would gladly show around. And when I say VERY cigar friendly bars.... Here is an example.

I was firing up a CAO MX2 Toro after dinner. A lady in the next booth, asked the question we all hate to hear "Can you put that cigar out, it stinks". As she lights up an Marlboro Ultra Light. Well, knowing damn well she was not a regular, I called the owner over. So here he comes.... with an Fuente 8-5-8 burnt about an inch hanging out of his mouth. He calmly tells the lady that cigars will be tolerated, no mater how 'stinky' they are. If she does like the aroma, well there is the non-smoking area, as well as the parking lot. A small victory for us all.

Please let me know if you wanna discuss cigars (or anything else). Especially my favorites are the:

CAO MX2
CAO Maduro
CAO Italia
Onyx Reserve (I think it is the mini-bellicoso)
RyJ

This seems like the forum to be.

Welcome Scott, great bar story, good to hear, usually it's the other way around.

welcome Scott.
Been thru Warren a few times.
Excellent story.

edited to add....I have yet to see any fighting here. I don't even post on some of my other sites anymore. Too many jerks!
In general, the internet has become much more nasty than it originally was. Here, everyone is cool.
Its all about the cigars mannnn.... :D

Welcome Scott. Nice story, I wish more people were as understanding about our dilemma. :(

Welcome. Interesting life story and wonderful cigar story. Steelmaking AND volleyball, too. The cigar story made my day. We don't hear too many like THAT on these boards.

Welcome Scott. Hope you enjoy it here as much as I have. Everyone here has been friendly and helpful. A real community. A lot of helpful knowledge here when you need it.

I also noticed that alot of you guys seem to be from the Chicago area. With a bunch of steel mills in the area (East Chicago, IN, Hammond, IN and Joliet, IL), I am in the area alot.

Guys care to tell me any good places in the area. Or better yet meet up and burn some sticks?

 I love that line.

As for places in chicago, check out the cigar.com newsletter monthly as well as any back issues. Each month a different cigar scene is covered. Mostly in chicago.

We try not to hold that against them Scott, they do seem a little top heavy in here though. Welcome to the forum!

Nice one cowboy!! Anyhow, Scott welcome, I too was born and raised in the "Burgh" and now reside in maryland. Nice choice in sticks by the way, CAO makes a great product.

Welcome Scott!

This is a GREAT group of cigar lovers! It's a very comfy place indeed!

Welcome. Great story. Just had my first MX2 and loved it. My mother works in the steel business at Gunite in Rockford.

Scott:
If any interest in playing with antique golf equipment on original golf courses- equipment ( 1870-1899) courses ( 1875-1899) PM me.

Malone,

Good to see you. I actually hit the lynx last weekend and played with an old sand wedge that belonged to my grandfather. It had a wooden shaft. Ill tell you I had some amazing shots with that club.

what up scott!
im interested to know what you actually do with steel, as i am a blacksmith by trade

and, if it hasnt been said enough, that was a great story

Welcome Scott! this is a great board, Fernando, Bloof, found many of us on a large chunk (Battlerifles) of detached ice and took us in on our lucky day. Regards
