Hello my name is Stickman...and I have a problem

That makes my "HUGE" cigar collection look like....

crap.

Gee whiz that is a nice humi. My wife would throw a complete fit and maybe even file a few papers if I brought that home.

I am a 100% jealous cigar smoker!!!

Look Stick, it's not really a problem until you start thinking of rolling your own cigars
.
.
.
Damn, I think we have a problem :D

What, you want to know how? I wrote a great thread on it. My last few harvests have been great.....

I need to go to bed

I think you hit on it Stick. Use a gallon container with the top cut off, and a lot of patience.

That is one bad boy humi!!!!

some people do it and other dont...
did ya wipe it?

I read that wipping it gives to much moisture at one time and could cause the cedar to crack and warp.....so no I havnt wiped it

RH holding at 67% 82 degrees

beads are 65% beads btw

Is there any way to bring the temp down? Maybe circulating the air (with an Oust Fan) may help? Or maybe the thermocouple is at the top of the cabinet, hence the high temps?

Doc if you look at that picture ...the white thing on the left is an oust but I think I will add another one

thermocouple?

Oooooohhhhh. If the temperature truly is 79, and it won't come down any more, I'd try to get that humidity down to around 63, 64, if not lower.

Stickman, do you have the new cabinet filled with cigars yet?

I'm working on it every day and almost have them all moved.....I also put my other Oasis xl plus in the upper half and seems to have help along with all the sticks too

top is 64%
bottom is 66%
but temp is still around 82.4 right now

seems to be settling in...I removed all the beads also

another note: this baby is awesome its got all kinds of room and differant ways to set things up (shelves will angle if desired)

Hve you thought about what to do about the temp? what is the ambient temp in the room? Being in florida have you turned on the AC yet?

well I have thought about it alot but dont know the answer.....its here in my office which is warmer than the rest of the house so I cant turn up the a/c or we will freeze in the other rooms

shouldnt I be ok as long as the RH holds where it needs to be?

Stick

Now this is just my opinion form what I understand. No and yes. I think that you have a much greater chance at having a problem at 80 deg than you would at say 68. but you might never have a problem at 80 If you are like me 70 degrees in anything is COLD. when the summer is 120 80 is nice a comfy. but have you thought about putting a portable cooler in there? maybe even a window cooling unit? Just throwing out Ideas. If I am wrong someone please correct me....
