How developed are you?

I am going to say I am a 5-6. I can pick out flavors and some regions, but I can not put a brand to a flavor.

I can tell when I am smoking an ACID :D Does that make me an 8?

Seriously though, I would say I am around 4-5. I think the five or so cigarettes I smoke a day don't help my palate a whole lot plus I am always smoking cigars late night after the day is done. Any suggestions on a good palate cleanser before lighting up?

saltines.

then water.

that or something that is the exact opposite taste of a cigar.

I asked one of the fellas at the local smoke shop what it was like to smoke an ACID. He said, "Imagine licking a metal garbage can." I kid not.

Whatever you do don't smoke their Chateau Real. It's wayyyyy too mild and literally tastes like one of their flavored cigars without the flavor.

Yay!

It's hard to say for me...

sometimes it can be hard to identify a blend with a few differnet tobaccos in it.. if it's done right... but then there are some that are giveaways....

First and only ACID I ever smoked was at a Blues Fest I went to, after burning the good stick I bought with me I went to a cart stand that was selling cigars and bought one on a recommendation. It lasted about 1/3 of an inch. Cross between a stick of incense and a crappy aromatherapy candle is what I remember...Never again.

Kuzi, thanks for the tip, will give that a try.

Very interesting thread. I have to say Capt, that's a fascinating idea, but how many people do you think have the constitution to smoke TWO cigars at once? Sometimes, I fall over after ONE cigar. :sm_angel: :pumpkin: :cryinlaugh:

When I am at work I frequently smoke two sticks at a time. Unintentionally.
I start one, set it down, scurry off to finish some task, forget that I have one burning and start another. Our employees are forever pointing out where my multiple fires are :D

I'm finding I only like fuller cigars. If I smoke a Rocky Patel Vintage I get nothing out of it except sweet wood flavors.

Probably a low 3 and i love working on my skills. Some day in a near future I will get better. All it takes is time and sticks.
