How to store tubed cigars

I would not leave the box out of my humidor. If you can't fit it in...get some tupperwear as an annex.

Storing tubed cigars in their tubes is the proper way to store them. Taking them out of their tubes makes the cigar lose all of it's cedar taste profile. There is a reason there is a cedar sheet in the tube, it is to enhance the flavor of the cigar. If you talk to any serious collector they will all tell you this is the proper way to store your tubed cigars.

I agree 100% with Harris - Cigars are stored in there tubes -
It is a very good idea if the cigar is in for long term aging.
I've had some tubed cigars that were really amazing after 10+years!
I do think if your only going to keep the cigar for amonth or so
opening the end cap a littel is ok - it kind of speeds up the rest period
But serious collectors pay extra for tubed cigars and store them as they came.

As for glass tubes - if you have no room, put them in Tupperware with a bovida (sp?) pack.

Once again our fine forum lives up to its reputation for a totally unique type of madness.

And....welcome to the new comers, you will enjoy it here for sure!

right now i've got a punch rare corojo in a glass tube aging with the cork off, so i should put the cork back on?

Here is what I do:

In the end I store them in the tube. As soon as I get them, though, I place them in the humi with the cap off to make sure that the proper humidification has taken place. I cannot be 100% sure that the place I got them from will take care of them as well as I do.

So.... in order
Buy them
Set in humi with cap off
Sit for a few weeks
Put cap back on for longer ageing
