I went to a scotch tasting party at some of my friends and had brought my travel box with about eight cigars. One of the cigars was an Opus X. I gave two nice cigars to one of my friends for his birthday and smoked an El Cobre. Today I went to put the unsmoked cigars back in my humidors. I find the cigar.com bag open and the Opus X gone  ! The other cigars where still there somebody I think knew what they found.

That sucks man.

At my brother's wedding, a friend gave him a three finger case with three cuban cigars inside. He left it on the wedding party table. When he went to open the case later, he found that somebody had taken one. Some people just have no morals.

I hope that robber gets his humidor infected with tobacco beetles!

The NERVE of some people! Definately not a BOTL.

That sucks, man. I usually think/expect the worst from people.

People on this forum have proved me wrong. I've seen more examples of random acts of kindness and generousity from people here than I could ever have imagined.

Bad things happen, yes. But, great things happen between true BOTL.

I too am amazed at how givening people are on this board. I have seen this type of givening in the SCA also. I probably would not have been so ticked if it had been a different cigar.

That reminds me I need to get a package off for Jeff. I have at least one I know he likes.

Sorry to hear that Red. People can sink pretty low sometimes. Although as Brenda said the people here can be so generous with random acts of kindness that just blow me away.

That's LOW!
I've been there had it ahppen as well.
Thankfully we have plenty of good peeps here!
Kind of makes up for it!

I can say I've never had someone flat out steal a cigar from me, but I have had people take a cigar not realizing what they were smoking. Most recently, I was having a little gathering at my house one sunday afternoon, back when it was warmer, and I offered some sticks to people and some people accepted and some didnt. Well, later on I found that those who didn't changed their minds and took it upon themselves to dive into my humi and take some primo sticks. I don't mind offering some primo sticks to those who can appreciate them, I just hate to see someone smoking because everyone else it and then laying it down halfway through.

Didn't you finish off the half-smoked ones? :D  (just kidding, of course)

But yeah, I've been in situations where folks would smoke a cigar when I offered just for the heck of it, take a couple puffs for about 5 minutes, then say they're done. :x

I thought about it...ha ha..

it was more that I would have given them an average smoke or something as opposed to the VSG Sorcerer that they took...

I agree I don't mind sharing some of my primo smokes with people that will apperciate it. I have to say I probably would not have shared the Opus as I have only had one before and this one in my box. Like boredatskewl said for people that don't smoke I would have given a decent cigar just not a real expensive cigar. Oh well I guess I should chalk it up to experince.

Cheers all

That's why you buy the bundle cigars then you don't care.

Thats why I always have a couple "lesser quality" cigars in my humi. I can usually tell what to hand them when I show them my selection. If they seem to have no idea what they are looking at, I offer one of those.

As far as the thief stories, I am totally shocked but at the same time not too surprised. The fact that they took the Opus X (as mentioned above) tells me they knew what to look for. Knowing the value of that stick, he/she must have a real lack of compassion and self worth!
