Well, Today My Iguana gets his/her new home (I hope)
I think it is a she, but it is hard to tell.
Anyway - a year ago I bought a tiny (6 inch) Iguana.
Not my first - I have had 4 to date - another story.
Anyway - it was moved to a 55 gallon tank last fall and has out grown the tank.
I started to build a new home for "Balthazar"
The new home is 4/8 and 8 feet tall.
Has a sliding door for a front and 1 pain of a sliding door as a side.
There is a water bath built froma sink and a few feeding stations.
I'll try and take pictures when it is done.
This is going to be one happy lizard in it's new lounge!
Pictures to follow!

Sounds like quite the little palace! I can appreciate building something above and beyond for your reptiles :D

Looking forward to the pics CC.

Wow! How big is this lizard?

I'd say she is about 2 feet long?

Once in a bigger cage she will start to grow faster.
I can't wait to put her in there!

That is one big lizard. How big can they get?

My cousin has had iguanas for over 5 years now and even dedicated a 10x15 corner of his basement as their habitat. The adults are just under 4 feet in length!

I think if you include the tail - they can get 6 feet long
Maybe I should say 5 to be safe!

You may be able to fool these guys who really don't know you but I know tha t the room has been designed to keep you favorite cigars. YES, the green Iguanas from you favorite cigar store "Thompsons". People say you even have the Green Iguanas Jacket.

if your gonna have a castle you got to have something that at least is kind of like a dragon! :D

That's funny BigTom....I don't even think CC would be seen in a mile of those things..........

OK, I was just kidding. I have been spending a lot of time indoors this week. The heat is unbearable. Tomorrow the weather guessers are talking about temps near 100 F. Your lizard would love it in ole Virginia.

Made some serious progress, until my back gave out
I pretty much finished the inside, paint is drying "as we speak"
As I type
I put the Vines to climb on, painted the walls green and the floor brown.
Added a sink for a bath and easy for me to clean.
Ran power & lights.
Also installed the sliding glass door.
All that is left is facing the outside of the Iguanarium.
Doing tongue and grove pine.
The Cage has to windows inside it, that have been fenced in with
a plastic mesh as well as the roof.
Strong stuff, - I didn't want metal.
Hopefully I will have it all finished tomorrow with the Iguana
living in it. If the paint was dry we'd be good to go.
This project became way more than I had ever thought :?
When I post pictures you'll see why.
This is one bad A$$ IGuanarium!

One a side note I have some "REAS" (sp?)
They are a Canadela (sp) Wrapper on a Cu ban cigar.
Made for Canada & kind of interesting flavor.
Not bad not great, but OK!
Closest I get to the Green sticks
