Well, that's how Nightline got started. Remember???

:cryinlaugh: :cryinlaugh: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:   :cryinlaugh:

:duh: :duh: :duh:

Do you know who Ted Koppel is, how and why he became famous? Do a Google search for "Iran Hostage Crisis" or "November 4, 1979." It's good history also, for anyone wishing to connect the dots in history leading up to 911.

After the regular 11 p.m. news, ABC-TV used to run an extended segment of their news, focusing on the Iran Hostage Crisis. They used to call it America Held Hostage - Day 417, etc. It eventually became Nightline, and that's why we know who Ted Koppel is. Very interesting how that could very well have been the first "official" shot fired by Islamic terrorists at the U.S., although a friend of mine links it to June 5, 1968.

I usually go back to the Munich Olympics in '72, as being that "First Shot", because I never thought that was JUST about striking at Israel. It was a message to the U.S. too. At any rate, November 4, 1979 is a good starting point for what's going on today.

Malone Missing - Day 563

I've been thinking of Thurman Munson, the great Yankees catcher who died on this date in 1979.

I'm hoping that Malone is okay. It's a hot, uncomfortable summer here in the Northeast, extremely so. Thoughts of Malone as I smoke a 5 1/2x46 Jose L. Piedras, Jen U. Whyne Kyoobin taken from Desk Top I (like Air Force I) and lit at 1828 hours.

There is no report from Europe or "Our Man In The Far East" on Malone. The Message Board from "The Organization" (or is that "The Bureau?" :dunno: :sm_angel: ) has been silent today.

Half an inch into this fhine, fhine, pttttttemium Kyoobin Cigahhh it's beginning to develop bold flavor.

Malone is bold. I'm sure he's alive. America cries out for Malone. He's resourceful.

Malone, if you have that high powered laptop with the badass internet satellite hookup, and you're watching, America stands by you. Shoulders squared, chin tucked in, legs churning, march on Malone. If you need help, "Our Man In The Caribbean" can call "Our Girl In Hawaii" to send backup. She will in turn send "Our Man In Mexico" to finalize any operations that "The Organization" and you might be involved in.

Carry on. Malone Missing - Day 563 Chronicles. To be filed by "Our Guy (Yes, men can be secretaries, too) Friday at The Office." And no, "Our Guy Friday at The Office" is not named Joe. :dunno:

The cigar went out a few minutes ago, and it's too short to relight, although there MIGHT be a quarter inch smoking left. It was very spicy, almost minty, with a distinct flavor of blacktop throughout most of it. Very straightforward, medium bodied and flavored, and with no kick. I guess I aged it long enough. :sm_angel:

I have been meaning to ask for a while... what the heck is a Malone?

A mysterian. He disappeared shorty after I arrived here. International Man of mystery.

Malone is actually a very real and regular type of guy who is personally, face to face acquainted with at least one member here. While on here, he has displayed a charismatic personality in his own special sort of way  , and incredible generosity. He, like all of us, has his life and right now he cannot be here on a regular basis. I think those of us who have seen him over the short time he's been here, have seen a good man and good contributor to these forums.

Because I'm just a silly ass, dumb blond(e), and because I know that I can make my humor harmless, I have decided to start this thread not only to have a little fun with Malone, but also to get more Americans understanding what November 4, 1979 was all about, and the series of dots we can connect from that point to the present time.

As for Malone, we await his return, wish him well and stay tuned to WBLF-6969.69 Mhz Internet Radio, All Bloofy, All The Thyme for updates on Malone Missing - Day #.

....once upon a time in another cigar bb, almost a million cyber miles away, another man (we'll call b) packed up his gear and walked away. b left behind him a large group of readers that greatly missed his rambling posts, and frequently pondered on his whereabouts. Many speculated that at some point b would return and continue where he left off, but to date I'm not sure that b has returned to post, maybe just an occasional check in. Much has changed at that distant cigar bb, the regulars of b's time have all left, and the place is just an empty shadow of it's once glorious existence. I'm not aware of what prompted b to one day up and leave, but he evidently had his reasons and when he left it was a definitive move. Although I have been fortunate and stumbled upon b since his departure, I have not asked his reason for that move. I would suspect in some way Malone has come to the same conclusion that b made a few years back. To speculate on his departure although to some degree does lend to a certain amount of intrigue, won't do much to bring him back. I will say though seeing Malone around would in a way make things seem right.

Nah, it's not that mysterious with me. They had let the inmates run the asylum at that place and security was badly askew. I also had a running feud with a guy who was one of the charter members, who despite my apologies, wouldn't let a certain remark I once made go. Because of this feud, some who once called me friend began to doubt certain things about me, and also because of my "right wing leanings."

I eventually put certain clues together and was able to nail this "charter member" as also being a two faced, insipid and bitter old troll, and a thorn in the side of the function of the web site. This has not only vindicated me in light of those doubts, but I have been tracked down, made peace with, and credit has been given where it was due all along.

My move from that place was indeed definitive, and when Bigg Bosss Mann here at AmBack, once a member of that "other web site," asked me to think of a suggestion he had once made back in the "bad old days" at that "other web site," I agreed and came on here on February 8, 2004 I believe. It might have been the 9th.

That's it, plain and simple, that other place deteriorated. When I left briefly in '01, and at times subsequent, I had said that if security could not be guaranteed and camaraderie deteriorated, then and only then would I leave. That's why I left, and as long as there's security and camaraderie here, I'll stay.

Darn, I thought you got mad at me. You know I love you even though you are a right wing nut case.

:cryinlaugh: :cryinlaugh: :rotflmao: :pumpkin: :pumpkin:

Good morning to Big Tom, just in time to say good night to me.

Last I spoke with Malone he left the forum for personal reasons that had nothing to do with cigars or the forum, or the people for that matter. He assured me he would be back.

Malone has been at my house a few times over the past two weeks to relax and smoke a few cigars and have a few drinks. All is very busy with him, and he has been running none stop. This week he is at the Green Briar (SP?) so he will be incognito even from my radar. He is well and looks forward to getting back on the forum ASAP. I believe he maybe coming with the author of this thread to a not so distant sit down

:rotflmao: :rotflmao: :cryinlaugh: Maybe, but not who I was thinking of!

The one and only Bloof?!?!

Well....now this is turning into something.. :D

Should be a great day!!
