Hey everyone....

As most of you know, I write the Cigar.com Newsletter and am working on the cigar info site Cigar Advocate. I have lot's of articles and interviews to write, but I thought it would be interesting to get some feedback from all of you.

As people who are die-hards.....like all of us cigar nuts around here...what is it about the industry and cigars you would like to learn about but can't find info on?

i would like to see a detailed account of how cigars are rolled, begining to end. to answer questions like, why does the foot not unravel when the cap end unravels so easily if you cut too much.

I would love more pictorial information on the tobacco fields where our favs are grown.

Information on how a cigar gets from factory to our local shops or Cigar.com

The history of some of the old established brands.

A section on unique or rare cigar toys.

I would like to know the security codes to Cigar.com's warehouse and shipping docks.

Thanks for the imput....those are interesting topics...

I wanna know how to get paid for writing about cigars.

Along the same lines, I would like to get paid to sample them. Seriously, it would be nice to see the differences of tobaccos that make each cigar unique.

Cigarsmoka, I agree with Paintbrush. I too am curious about shipping procedures and methods from place of origin to warehouses and shops.

How do they develop the blends? What are the process for developing new blends? Something along those lines.

A number of the items that people would like to see are available on the web presently. The one thing that I have not been able to find is when to smoke a good cigar. What I mean is that if you buy a case of good red wine to lay down you can find out when it is ready to drink. Is their something like that for cigars? Also, how do you know when a cigar was actually made. Wine says on the bottle 2001 vintage etc.

Great idea Bobberiffic!
I know VA isn't known for cigar tobacco, but we kinda' know other tobaccos! I wonder what VA tobacco soil would produce. One of our paintball parks is literally surrounded by tobacco farms.......mmmmm.

One, I would like to know more about what happens to a cigar once its rolled--ie how its aged and stored. Two, I would also like to know/see how the fresh tobabbo is aged and how the different wrappers are made. And three, I would like to see where each leaf is picked from on the plant and the timeline for the picking of each.

Would like to see the site have working links for us that arent using IE or Opera...:)

what you talking about, i use firefox and i got no problems.

Hmm, the pointer doesnt show up properly on links, and half the time links dont work...*heads to update FF*

If you are talking about cigar advocate, iminaquagmire is right, the site is only in the first stage of development, it's not an advertised site yet, I just want it up to start getting input on what people think.

Thanks for the ideas everyone.....those are some great ones.

Coming up in the newsletter is a series of articles about wrapper tobaccos, the first one is on Cameroon. It talks about the tobacco, and country, I hope you guys like it and the series! :D
