Nice post Higgs!! I agree with the fact we need to focus a large piece of help on the southern states hit by Katrina...If the worst I have to do is give up more money at the gas pump for awhile, then I do it gladly! My heart and prayers go out to all those people down there living hell everyday of their lives. Put life in perspective gentlemen, the getting could be much much much worse. We sitting on our computers, posting to a forum about cigars, comfortable and unharmed....Life couldn't be better!

Paul - Very True!
I have friends with family still looking for family.
This is some sad & crazy $hit!
My heart goes out to these people.
After living through my own (smaller) flood -
I still can't imagine the pain & suffering!

Luckally i dont drive much anywhere, but i need to drive out to stoneham this weekend... in a '97 jeep wrangler. The motor isnt quite what it used to be, so you dont even want to know what kind of milage I get....

I deliver pizzas for my second job and no I don't get reimbursed for anything. I drive at LEAST 70 miles a night so you guys can do the math. I certainly have and its pretty depressing. My boss is planning on calling a meeting to discuss delivery charge increases and I heard .25 as the increase. We need at least a dollar increase but I don't see it happening. Plus people still seem to thing nothing of giving us the same tips they always did. I was so pissed tonight I told a punk kid who stiffed me that I didn't flinstone his food there. You try to be courteous and punctual but it just doesn't matterto most people.

I was shopping for a new car and saw that the Toyota Prius gets 60 miles to the gallon in the city. I always thought the hybrid cars of today were for yuppie tools but for those kind of savings I'll gladly be considered a one!

No kidding. It's funny, I have a few neighbors with hybrids and I would always laugh and think to myself "what the heck were they thinking." Well, they're laughing now. I'm just glad I didn't bring my car up to SF, but being back home this week has proved to be expensive
