the above pics are the property of myself taken with a casio camera. if i am violating any kind of rule for posting a picture taken by a comercial camera company without getting explicit permission from that company i am deeply sorry. oh yea, the picture was transfered to a laptop that was likely not made in the usa, i hope that doesnt break some kind of international laws. please accept my most sincere appology if i have broken any rules posting these pictures that were taken with equipment i did not myself invent.

A 7 volt transformer he means. Like a cell phone charger or something along those lines. It turns the regular household DC into 7 volt AC. Orthe other way around. I can't think straight now.

Unless its hooked up to a timer yeah it would run continuosly. Higgs, you could have put a couple battery operated OUST fans in there without the oil things in them and you wouldn't have had to have a cord coming out. Just a suggestion.

Just did a Google; those things are cool! Good idea quag!

<--- brain is churning now baby!

That one I can't claim credit for. I saw that over on another forum.

the power adaptor is an old ac dc power adaptor i had from a cd player. the fan is a 12 volt fan but fans over 4000 rpm work just fine running on 7 volts. yea, i thought about running a fan off a battery, but i had these two things and an idea, sometimes im just impulsive. the fan is still on the heatsink, i figure the air blowing out the sides and being disrupted by the heatsink fins would work well for circulating air and not just blowing directly on the cigars. and it made mounting it easyer. pb, the bag in the humidor is full of primeros. the bag on top of the cooler is a standard bag from cigar.com filled with humidy packs, thats what i use to humidify my humidor till i get my beads. it took some doing to get the humidity right, the bag half zipped seems to give off the right humidity.

Nice set up James, I too like that sideways idea, you could put it on top of a table that way, and see into it much better.

Soo, so you have that fan running all the time, or does it shut off every now and then.

I've been meaning to ask but keep forgetting. Is that scotch tape on the fan connection. :?:

rofl, you just reminded me quag, im out of shrink tube and electricians tape

You also suggested joining batteries in line. If done incorrectly (ie not attaching the wires or contact strips precisely onto the terminals) the batteries could melt, leaving battery acid all over those nice El Cobres.

oh it doesnt matter if its plugged into the wall, its only 7 volts. the acdc adaptor would destroy itself before anything could happen, even if that werent the case the breaker would go.

You're right Higgs. I've intentionally destroyed those things to see if they would pop the breaker, catch fire, or just short internally. Not once out of maybe 6 or 7 have they done anything dangerous or tripped the breaker.

Its still just funny to me.
