I think alot of conservatives (myself included) want a stand up conservative. We've worked hard to repubs in the majority and now we want paid for our work. Personally, I don't want a stealth candidate. I want an "in your face" conservative and constitutionalist...and if it starts a knock down drag out fight with the socialists...thats ok with me.

We should "stick it to him". "Trust me" - which was the justification given for this pick - would have held more water if we didn't feel so betrayed and lied to on everything from law and order to his massive domestic spending programs. Where is the party platform in all this? Why is it being so completely ignored?

I feel the vast majority of conservatives are free thinkers and not just party line tow'ers. We don't walk lock step with what ever the party happens to want to do today...we have core values and christian morals that we won't budge on. Just my humble God fearing opinion

I agree, we need a constitutionalist. I am sick of big government, smoking bans, and the rest of this BS. Honestly, if I dont like the Republican nominee this year I will be voting Libertarian. Enough is enough. I read the other day that if the Libertarian candidate gets voted mayor in NY the first order of business is repealing the smoking ban. Two other great changes would be:
1. Moving election day to the day after taxes are due. That way everyone remembers exactly what the spent that year. It would encourage lower taxes and better money management in our officials.
2. Foreign aid needs to become more like a 401K. I would love to match what the European Union is contributing. Although we are the biggest supporters in Foreign Aid, everyone hates us.

Very good points. Mac I would love a day after fed tax poll! That would keep it fresh in everyones mind! I vote Liberaterian often and as long as the Repub's keep it up, I'll stay that way!
