Been busy hunting Bambi's dad.
First day in the office since wednesday....no buck yet but the season is young! Monday evening I come home and am sitting in the garage with the boys, smoking cigars and drinking beer...wife comes in with a fed ex package....I look blankly at it...then the bulb goes on....in my quest for blood guts and jerky, I totally forgot about my buddy Big Paintbrush's impending gift! ...I tear it open and rip the poster......NO nO no..... ....I gingerly open the package and there it is!!!!!! An awesome poster of the Sopranos...heres a link of the poster courtesy of Freedomguns http://www.federicocastelluccio.com/images-fc/cigarcvr.jpg

Big P....Dood!!!!! thank you. You are a good man! :D

Glad you got your poster, , now if you want the B&W of the 4 guys on the from of the magazine with out all the words , it is framed & hanging in the Qtr.Deck , ready to go, that way you can hang the poster at home & the photo at work, never be out of the gaze of Uncle JR. hahaha
Enjoy, Vince

Ravyn,

I hope you have better luck then I did hunting. Crappy weather during elk (rain not snow doesn't effect them other then bedding down) and too many people. I saw cows and spikes, but only one 3 point or better which my friend missed his shot.

Deer I was too busy for general and ended up going on just late buck. Weather was really nice that day and it seams in the area I go that if it is nice I don't get a buck, but if the weather is really bad I get a buck by 8:00-9:00 the first day.

I am also tired of all the people so I am switching to bow.

Good luck.

Martin

Vince..pm sent.

Red,
did not see a deer on monday!..not one...rained heavy on tuesday...no luck again...

I have along season though...can hunt well into jan with flintlock...me and RazorKing will be out again on sat.
I hunted archery for many years and quit about 7 years ago...too many hobbies for the wife..hahaha

Pulled my bow out this year..retuned it and will back to archery heavy come next year...its a much nicer..quieter and private hunt.

Them posters are easy to track and shoot. They ain't good eatin', though. Get back in the woods!!!

Been pouring rain here, but warm. Tonight will be dry with a cold front coming in. I'll be in the woods tonight and tomorrow, waiting for them to move.

I'm bummed since this is the first season in over 15 years that I didn't go for deer.
Too much of a commitment with my training, but I'll make up for it next year

Your still able to own a firearm in California? And specially in San Fran?

DEER!
I hate them - but they do taste good!
I chase them away from my house everyday.
BUT, with the season open here they see a little shy.
I got guys banging on my door all the time wanting to hunt.
I try and keep it down to a few guys on different days.
I thought I heard gun fire at sunrise this morning.
No body I know?
But most people don't ask.
I try to put three in the freezer every winter.
Most going to my dogs to keep their smiles big!
I'll do the best cuts & smoke a couple back straps.

Well, since I got two this year, when you all come for the sit down, we can have as much venison as you want to eat!!! I just had 15 lbs of smoked Polish sausage, 15 lbs Italian sausage, and 15 lbs of hunters sticks made. So we can have a wild game Cigar-B-Q.

I have a couple back straps in the freezer , vacume packed & ready to cook, , all it cost me was the 100 deductable on my car insurance last spring ! Dammmmm deer ! they eat my veggies, they $hit in my grass, & drink all the water out of my fountain, then they have the nerve to run out in front of my wife & smash up the car, Dammmmm deer ! , good to eat but a real pain in the behind, if I didnt like where I am , I would move into a high rise apt. them & olny them would my plants be save, no grass to cut , but they will still try to run into us ! Dammmm deer ! hahahaha Enjoy, Vince

Castlecrest we have the same problems, so many of the dam things cruisin` through the yard. Cant keep the bark on the trees due to the bucks. We sit out back and sling led balls at them with our wrist rockets.

People say you shouldn't let your dogs chase them -
I say they get the taste of their flesh and no dinner if they don't
chase them. If they catch one they get roast beast for dinner!
I've also heard you shouldn't feed them raw meat - but
it seems to bring that killer instict out in them!

CC, is that legal in your area? I know in Michigan you can get a hefty fine for that. BTW, I found your shotgun sight!!!

Is what legal?
Letting your dogs Kill Deer - I don't know?
But they do - got 2 this year.
Mostly it's my little chow - she is tough.
Personally I don't think they care, we have to many deer here &
well I live on 100 acres, so no one sees & therefor no one cares.
I think it is good for the dogs to get a little primal!
But that just me -

Hmmm..100 acres and alot of deer...the Pocanos in the fall...archery.....cuban cigars.....I'm getting some ideas
