OMG! I am going to North Carolina! I don't know why. I think it has to do with a wedding. My wife guilted me into it. I said " as long as I can smoke cigars and drink beer I'll go". The problem is she said OK. We are staying at "The Winds" in ocean Isle. Where is this place??? I am going from California to NC. I am going to stick out like a sore thumB. Where do I eat? Any good BBQ? Please help me.......fish outta water ya know. I hate to travel. Man I hope I'll be ok. Sept. 28~Oct 2 Man I can't wait to get home. Oh wait, I haven't left yet............ :shock:

Welcome to the Carolinas. Where are you flying in to? Ocean Isle is BEAUTIFUL beach. It is right on the border of SC/NC. Bad news---not much BBQ there. Although you could ask around, just stay far away from the chains like Sonnys, Firebonz etc. Good News--- You are in Calabash country there. GREAT seafood. Just ask around (like a hardware store) for the best restaurant. Also peanuts are in season, so you can get some yummy boiled peanuts. Also, if you are up for a road trip, Myrtle Beach SC is about an hour south on HWY 17. I refer to it as "the Redneck Riviera". Lots of tourist stuff to do there. Nicks Cigar world is pretty nice. Tons of shopping there too-- Barefoot Landing, Broadway at the Beach, 3 different outlet malls.

Enjoy. When will you be there? I will be back and forth from Murrels Inlet which is about an hour fifteen away.
