Well the talk about this cigar is going around and around and I feel like people dont really know the story behind it so I will disclose everything I can about it so everyone is on the same page. The cigar is made by a boutique manufacturer that has a rich history in the cigar industry dating back at least three generations. Most cigar makers have the cigars they make for resale and to the public becuase they are of popular taste and they also have the cigars they blend and make for themselves as their everyday cigar. Their everyday cigar is one they make to their specifications of flavor, body, and aroma and is typically made with the tobacco that is in more limited amounts as they dont need a ton of it since it is made just for them.

The "Papa Bruce Lee" (just a nickname not the cigars actual name) is just that cigar that is the personal blend of the first generation (grandfather) of this boutique cigar company. Unfortunately, becuase it is not yet released I cant disclose who the manufacturer/ family is. This cigar was never made available to the public becuase it was thought the blend was too strong to appeal to the everyday cigar smoker. Believe me when I say this cigar has a lot of juice. One of the best cigars I have smoked to date and it is the personal everyday cigar, never before released, of one of the most knowledgable and admired tobacco men in the industry. Total homerun.

When Thor and I recieved our first sample bundle from the manufacturer they were unbanded and on the outside it was labeled by the bundlers "PAPA BRUCE LEE". Papa meaning the grandfather and founder of the cigar company and Bruce Lee becuase it will kick your ass.

These gems wont be available until after the summer but I thought it would be a good idea to bring everyone up to speed. As soon as I can tell you the name of the cigar and who they are made by and whos everyday smoke they are I promise I will.

If the person who is making this cigar (you know who you are) reads this and wants to share any info, they are welcome to. I just dont want to overstep my bounds.

mmmmm.....

I know a few people that will not be too thrilled with that nickname. Namely those in charge of the Bruce Lee Estate and his former students. Not to be a party pooper here, but a different name would be a good idea.

Thanks for the feedback fernando. I can put anyone who be offendeds mind at ease that the actual name of the cigar is spanish and has nothing to do with bruce lee or martial arts. It is a nickname that we kind of just adopted around the office since the official name is not published knowledge. In fact, I will start refering to it as PBL so no is offended. As an avid martial artist myself I realize how how that can be upsetting. If it offended anyone you have my apologies. As to not get amback on bad terms with anyone either I might ask anyone visiting the forum from cigar.com not to refer to it as papa bruce lee and longer. Thanks everybody and happy smoking.

Mr. Svenson,

Are we allow to guess who the manufacturer is? From your post, I have a pretty good idea who.

Well, I guess you can guess, but I can also guess that Mr. Svenson will keep us guessing until the cigar is released, unless he wants to ruin something very important, . . .

a powerful professional relationship. :sm_angel:

Yes, I think The God Of The Axe is VERY close to knowing EXACTLY who it is. After all, if we are horses, Mr. Svenson pretty much led us to the water. Now we drink it . . .

No, no, noooo, NO!!!

We SMOKE IT!!!

YEAH, YEAH, yeahhhhhh, YEAH!!!

 :sm_angel:    :sm_angel:

That info is known by a few....but unfortunately we can't say who......until they let us....

i love all of this thread. Its so misterious, and everytime i see it i want to smoke one of these cigars.

They are so good....

Pungent prelight aroma, full flavor, thick, dark wrapper....hmmmm,
PBL..........

I know! I know!

As far as taste goes, I'd say the El Cobre is kind of a LGC Serie R Maduro meets an Antano.

Uh Oh. Hydra let the cat out of the bag. I think we have a mutual friend Hydra. A Mr. Brian Shapiro :D

The cigars name is El Cobre.

Hydra, great desription of the flavor, I could not have put it better myself.

I will still keep everyone guessing though as to who makes it. That is in my opnion that makes the cigar everything that it is.

I cant keep anyone in anticipation any longer. We are going to have to do a giveaway.

giveaway! please!! hell, dont give one away, ill buy it! just gimme gimme gimme!
