Calibus, its fuuny how broad the age range is here. From what I have seen the youngest is about 22 and the oldest, well........ Let's just say it's not me.. I'm the same age as you are. But what matters is we are all enjoying something we have a common passion for. Ryan

Hehe, I'm 20 and my 2 passions in my life are fine cigars and my wonderful 15 yr old car. As for the Diplomas, wayyyy too strong for me. Both that I smoked made me very dizzy.

bkelm 18, My brother in law is a nuclear engineer assigned to the USS Enterprise out of Norfolk! Anyway, diplomas are definately strong cigars, but you may grow into them as you smoke more cigars. There is always the ability to let them sleep in your humidor for a few months to a year, that will calm them down a bit...Ask bloofington! he's waiting for hell to freeze before he smokes his!

Calibus, I have the same box of cohibas that guy bought and they are georgeous in a glass top box and everything Only mine were $75.00

Okay now in all seriousness, there are a lot of young smokers around here. I am turning 26 on monday. Smoka, Rubberneck, Mastershake, Jhiggs, and a host of others are all in their 20's

As for the Diploma. It is my favorite cigar bar none. I am a slave to it.

Small world, I'm a nuclear reactor electrician.

Cuban cigars are great smokes, but that isn't to say there isn't a domestic brand or series that your tastes enjoy as much if not more!

Well fo course. I love the cigars that I regularly smoke and none are cubans. I only get to smoke cubans when I am out of the country so I make the most of the oppurtunity. I am just really interested in being ablle to smoke them more often but I am concerned about purchasing online without a recommendation.

wow! thats amazing! im a noocleearr recharger techamatitian too! oh wait, no im not.

Nice jhiggs! :D That is cool bkelm 18! Calibus, no doubt then, in regards to ordering, PM me and I can lead you in the right direction for vendors, what smokes to order, well, you'll have to do your do dilligence and figure out what fits your tastes the best. One thing that I will do though, I challenge you to order anything but Cohiba and or Montecristo. Order a box or some sticks outside the norm, not only is the price better on most, I think you will be pleasantly suprised that your daily smoke could very easily be a cuban, and possibly for less the you spend now!

But it only a challenge, do what you may with it!

Welcome Calibus.......

Glad to have you around, glad to see such enthusiasm!!

As far as the Diplomas being compared to Cubans....

They are very very different.....

But I would have to say that I believe these are the closest thing to it. Every tobacco from different regions have different character to it....

Nicaraguan, Honduran, Cuban, all of them give a distinct flavor and aroma that can only come from that region.....they are all very different, but at the same time may share some of the same characteristics, such as complexity, burn, etc...

If you want to experience Honduran tobacco at it's finest, I'd Go Diploma or Camacho Dark, if you want Cuban...well, I'd go Partagas Serie D #4 or even the El Rey Del Mundo Choix Supremes if you haven't had a lot of experience...I'm really only getting started on my journey of the Cuban Leaf....and have a long long way to go...

:D :D
Hope this helps a little, just my $.02

Yup, those are the ones. The Cuban Cohibas that you can buy on any street corner in tourist areas of Mexico. Don't you know that Cubans are so magical that you don't need to keep them humid?

One thing that I will do though, I challenge you to order anything but Cohiba and or Montecristo.

Honestly, I had no intention of buying either of those brands. I have smoked plenty enough of those two already and want to try others.

As far as the Diplomas being compared to Cubans....

I actually wasn't trying to compare them. I just wanted to know about the Diploma since I haven't tried it yet and where other people are finding their Cubans.

I am really anxious to get some of those Diplomas now that everyone seems to be in love with them. I swear, with this kind of build up, if I don't have an orgasm when I smoke one I am going to be disappointed.

Well, get a towel ready, or better yet, just wear some protection!!!!

  8)

No, seriously

Calibus, my advice to you is.....Make sure you eat first!! Those are a great, strong smoke!!!!
