alright folks, first year of college is over, unfortunelty, i havn't taken a class on how to ship cigars home properly. I have 100 ct humidor and about 30 cigars inside, i plan on shipping it UPS, any tips? Should i bag up the cigars and carry them on the plan home, bag em up and keep them in the humidor? what to do?

You can take the cigars on the plane with you. Best bet would be to bag them up and stick them in your carry-on. I'm not sure about the humidor.

Ship your cigars to me...

I will pick out the "bad" ones and send the rest to you.

This is a free service of Carduus International Inc.

I'd pack the cigars in tupperware to carry on, keep them somewhat stable humidity wise and protect them from damage.

The humidor should ship just fine, take it to a UPS store, give them a couple of bucks and let them box it up and send it.

I would carry on. Definately dont ship them in the humidor, you will want the cigars to be snug so they cant move around. Go to a good packaging store and get lots of bubble wrap and air pillows. You can also load them in poster tubes. That works for me.

When my dad and mom went back home to Hawaii (from CA), I packed dad's humi (40ct with 22 cigars and a Boveda pack) with air pillows to allow no movement of the cigars. The cigars were packed in ziplock bags and stacked on each other (about 3 rows, longest cigars on the bottom to shortest on top), where the various sized air pillows (including bubble wraps) took up the slack spaces. I then wrapped the humi with plastic wrap to prevent/reduce dehydration on the plane, and then wrapped a foam-like sheet material (usually you see these wrapped around electronic equipment), and then taped some foam cornerings to the 8 edges of the humi. Dad then put it into his suitcase (hardshell Samsonite). It arrived in Hawaii undamaged, and the cigars maintained a 60-65% humidity.

Sounds like a lot of work, but it helps when my parents carry-on was already loaded with gifts for the rest of my family in Hawaii.

Ditto what DocT said. You cannot use too much packing, or be too carefull. These are your cigars, and they represent a significant investment. Treat them right, and they will treat you right!!
