How do you all ship cigars to each other. Do you use DHL, UPS, USPS, Fed X? Do you send them overnight, 2 day, Priority, regular mail ??? I guess I'd like to know what is the best, safest, and reasonably priced way to do it. Thanks

I use USPS Priority mail. Haven't had any problems to speak of. Only concern I've had was a package getting delayed by hurricanes or holidays or something.

For me it mostly depends on what's around. I've got a FedEx Kinkos and a UPS store about a block away. I'm not sure where the nearest post office is, but I'm sure it's less convenient and I'd probably have to wait in line.

I'm not exactly sure where USPS fits into the pecking order, but this has been discussed ad nauseum on the computer hardware & software board I hang out on. The generally accepted order of service quality on that site is FedEx Express (best), UPS (all), FedEx Ground, DHL (worst). USPS is somewhere between DHL and FedEx express.

The problem with all the name brand shippers is cost. UPS will cost at least 3 times as much to send a parcel as the PO. At least that is the case for cross border shipping. Jesse if you know your weight, and dimensions, you can get a quote on just about any parcel you want to ship just by logging on to their websites, and that will give you a good idea of cost and time frame.

The PO may be a little slower, but in 6 years of Ebaying, I haven't lost a parcel yet in over 200 transactions, and most of those were crossing the border.

We should do a test. 10 of you send me 3 of your finest cigars, each using a different method and we'll see what is really the best. NOW whos in????? :)

Dammmm thats what I was going to say !

I use the US Mail, & I have some to send out as soon as I get them packed up, dammm I am sorry for the delay , You all know who you are that are looking for the mail man , honest I will get them out soon.

Enjoy, Vince

USPS offers 2-3 day priority for $4.05. or regular mail 2 to 9 days for $1.50 and up by weight. I guess the $4.05 is the best choice.

i use usps, the website is the easyest way to do it. you dont ahve to put the demensions of the box and just put the weight. makes it much easyer than fedex. you can just tape the label to the box and put a layer of tape on top of it so it doesnt get messed up.

Bob, I have used USPS and their website for years. To my knowledge the only things they restrict are inflamables, explosives, illegal items, etc.

Jesse...stealing one from BP's playbook!!!!

I have used USPS and UPS without any problems. For small, light weight packages USPS is cheaper for priority mail. Never had either ask what I was shipping other than if it was fragile or perishable.

When I'm on the receiving end I have gotten pretty good service from all shippers. Longest average delivery time to me from companies seems to be from cigar.com. Not sure why.

i have only sent sticks one and that was priority and recieved priority no complaints so far

I've only sent cigars via USPS Priority Mail (with Delivery Confirmation which is an extra 50 cents) and Express Mail. I've sent other things via UPS and FedEx, and to me, USPS seems to be more reliable and cheaper with LESS damage to the parcel.

I like USPS to ship. Its fast (if Priority is used), cheap, and easy (especially now with those automated teller things). But the best to receive items with is UPS 3-day and FedEX. They process so much faster in my opinion.

For big ticket items and oddly shaped or big packages, UPS all the way. Much less expensive in the end.

I like to ship UPS...but I also usually let my office pick up the tab..hehe one of the few perks of a family owned business)....Otherwise USPS is best for the buck

I usually use UPS Ground most of the time unless it has to go fast or it's not too big/heavy and particularly valuable, then FedEx express 3-day. I'd use USPS in place of UPS Ground for small numbers of cigars, but UPS and FedEx are far more convenient for me- both of them have retail drop-off locations about a block from my place. The nearest Post Office is a lot farther away and doesn't have any parking.

Yes Kelvin,
I did take that from the BP playbook. PB is the Master, I am just the student, but some day I will be the master
