I knew an old cowboy when I was a kid that would take his chew out once it had all the taste worked out and set it on a fence post. When he'd ride by that post the next day or even a week later, he'd pick up the tobacco plug, roll it up then smoke it. He was the all time king of recycling.

Wow!! Now that's what I call a cowboy! Guess the smoke didn't have much flavor after being worked out between one's cheek and gum? Interesting thought though!
