CAO The Sopranos Edition marks the first time that Home Box Office has officially licensed a cigar to be made to commemorate the award-winning series. “Both HBO and CAO stand for high quality and innovative products in their respective fields,” stated Richard Oren, HBO Director of Licensing. “It just made sense for us to develop a cigar line around The Sopranos® series with CAO; they have the expertise, quality, and creativity to make this a successful part of our licensing business.”

The highly-acclaimed series, winner of seventeen Emmy® Awards and five Golden Globes, will return to the air for its sixth season starting in March 2006. The limited edition cigar is a bold, full-bodied blend featuring a Brazilian Mata Fina wrapper, Honduran binder, and an exotic mix of fillers from Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, and Colombia.

CAO The Sopranos Edition will be packaged in 20 count boxes, and will be available in three sizes: "Associate" (5” x 52), "Soldier" (6” x 54), and "Boss" (7” x 56). Ask your local retail tobacconist about this very special commemorative cigar that will be a must-have for CAO aficionados and fans of The Sopranos® alike!

Sopranos and cigars. Maybe my wife will start smoking afterall.

Bring her to hang out with my wife one weekend!

It has worked with other couples in the past

Just in time for the new season to come out. I can't wait! Gotta ask the boss for Sunday's off! Anybody else hear that they are gonna make a movie of the Sopranos after this next season?

THAT'S FANTASTIC! When are they coming out? I have to have two boxes, one for smoking and one as a collector's item.

Just because CAO makes it, and it has Sapranos on it, dosen't automaticaly make it a good cigar.....I'll taste one first.

You're right, but I just always get the fluke out of the box if I buy singles. Plus its the type of cigar I prefer--dark and full bodied.

Hoppy,
Outside of their flavored line - are there CAO cigars you think sub-par?
CC :?:

they are supposed to be out later this fall. It was a secret launch. Not even the reps know they were making the cigar.

I am reminded of "Players Club" cigars, made for Vincent "Big P_ssy" Pastore of "The Sopranos" by Don Diego. Although Pastore was a frequent customer of my resume service, which served the acting community in NYC from 1989-98, I have to say that I gave these cigars a fair chance and in my opinion, they suck. He always acted like a nice guy around me, although in light of his most recent troubles, one wonders if fame changed him.

Although I like Playboy by Don Diego very much, Players Club sucks. I hope this new "The Sopranos" cigar will turn out to be more than just something that guys who like to show their band and say "bada bing, bada boom" in loud voices will smoke.

Time and taste will tell.

CC - In general I think the CAO line is a good one. I don't care for some of their milder smokes, but that's my taste and does not make them a bad cigar. The fact that the Sopranos is going to be a full bodied cigar, is a good thing, and I'll probably like it. On the other hand, would I go out and buy 2 boxs without trying a few first? Just on the CAO name? I would not! Also, throwing a name of a TV show on a cigar, in my mind is not very classy. However, I am looking forward to giving them a try, and thanks for posting the info.

Hey come on now! I said two boxes because I'd like one for a collector's item and the other because I believe that in every box there's at least one fluke and my unlucky self always picks those. I would never buy on a name. I know firsthand that some super-premiums tasted like a burning toilet paper roll, and as for CAO, I cannot stand their black line.

Columbian leaf filler, eh? That sound interesting indeed.

I work harder so I can make more money so I can buy more cigars
