I'm "thinking out loud" here and welcome comments and suggestions from everyone.
Has Cigar.com ever thought about offering a way for your customers to "donate" sticks to servicemen and woman currently serving overseas?
I was thinking of offering a selection on the shopping cart page that would allow Cigar.com customers to "Buy a stick for a serviceman or woman". A $3-5 stick that customers can add to their cart, and once a to-be-determined amount of sticks were purchased, the cigars could be sent to our military personnel overseas. I know there are organizations that help with sending packages to "Any Soldier/ Marine Overseas", perhaps these could be used to handle the shipments?
There must be a profit margine built into the stick selection to cover all of C.com's cost associated with this type of thing, plus enough to make it worth C.com's time.
Has anyone else ever thought of this type of thing? I am sure there are hang-ups and hassles that at first-blush I'm not seeing here, but is there a way to do it? Is there any interest from forum members in purchasing cigars to donate to military personnel?
