It's gonna be the longest day of the year tomorrow, in observence of this event I think I'm going to break out a Padron Magnum that has been in my humidor for the last six months or so, then have a couple of Bells Oberons' a great summer wheat ale. Anyone else have a lineup for this event? :beer:
I had an evening with some work friends. We met at a home of someone who has a gorgeous backyard with two ponds with waterfalls and lots of goldfish. A gorgeous atmosphere for a good smoke. 8) But they are what I call "polite company," and thus I couldn't quite kick back with them entirely. :? Had to console myself with a few frozen margaritas and fun chatter. But when we came home, my wife and I enjoyed a sit out on our patio and I had a nice cigar.com cuban label and a Johnnie Walker Red as we watched the stars in anticipation for the onset of summer.

Today was unofficially as long as tomorrow is going to be, at least here in Fishkill. It's interesting to note the different sunrise and sunset times on dates like 6/21 and 12/21, depending on where you are in the country.
When I lived in NYC, the earliest sunrise and latest sunset times occured on the same day, June 21st, with the sunrise coming at 0525 hours (5:25 a.m.) and the sunset coming at 2031 (8:31 p.m.). Here in Fishkill, the earliest sunrise time came yesterday, 6/19, at 0521 hours, with the sunset coming at 2032. Today and tomorrow, the sunrise is 0522, but the sunset is at 2033, giving us several days where we have 15 hours, 11 minutes of daylight, although I'm sure technically 6/21 is the longest by seconds, based on the most scientific measurements.

I am smoking my first Diploma as an early celebration of the "longest" day.
I will be going to a bar with fellow co-workers for a drink and smoke a Trinidad Belicoso (outside of bar, NYC has ban all smoking in all bars/restaurants a few years ago) after work.

Great Idea ! I have a Partagas Luci. stuck in the bottom of one of my Humi's. I just may fire it up for the longest day. What beverage shall I have ? Knob Creek Manhattins sound good.
