Man it's hot today 80+ degrees.
Gonna have to look for a shady spot for 1430 smoke club 8)

Just wait until late June or early July - you'll remember March as a cool month...make that a "cold month." :D

When the temp gets above 140, that's when the real fun begins!

Stay safe.

We get those in our shop a lot. they are also called a sun spider. they are fast and can bite. they are not poisonous but are ugly and scare the crap out of you

Are they that size too, Chris? Looks like something that lived outside of a nuclear plant.

i think thats a pic of two of em.

still, i wouldnt mess with those guys.

I promise those are real. Kuzi is right that is two of them. the ones we get are about the size of you hand.

if you do some research you will find out the they are not real I have several friends in the industry that are over in Iraq for pest control purposes. Like I said earlier it is some creative computer inhancing.

well I herd they are real and stay in the sade of the humvees. They also run about 35mph. At leas thats what I here. The pic. does have 2 of them in it though.

Damn, people....

The pic is real...... It's two spiders......If you look closely, you can see the guys open sleeve. He's the one holding it. Those sleeves are about about 6 inches in diameter when they hang open like that.

Do the math....if he's holding the TWO spiders and they're about the length of the open sleeve, then they're about 3 inches long a piece.

That pic was taken up close. That's why they look so big.

I've been there enough times and seen enough of these beasts to know how big they are. And yes, they can get bigger but not by much.

Although not deadly, they are a bitch to kill! I stomped on one about 6 times before it died. I almost put a round in it to make sure!

That's funny, Sarge!!! Would you have had to account for the round in paperwork? As for the spiders, sure, why not, three inches or even a bit bigger is not at all farfetched. When I worked out at Mid-City Gym off and on from '74 to '83, we took our showers in a communal shower room, with a bunch of faucets and shower heads placed around the rectangular shower area. Since the gym was in a basement, and on the West Side of NYC, in what used to be known as Hell's Kitchen, and close to many restaurants and hotels, the waterbugs there were numerous, and many were two to three inches in length. Not fun taking a shower with those, but we did.

So Bloof...you showered with water bugs? Did they at least lather you up?

Thanks for the clarification DevillDog and CC. I don't care how big they are or are not, they are still some ugly critters.

Anybody ever seen a Scarab Beetle? Some varities of those get pretty massive as far as insects go. Anything thats almost as big as my hand is pretty much better viewed behind the glass of a museum exhibit.

Eight degrees in Iraq huh? Everybody have their winter gear on?
