Lost in translation
I've got about 7-8 months to age a box of sticks that I will be handing out when I have my next child. My wife is 9 weeks pregnant right now, so I gotta think about the cigars I will be handing out. We are botyh really excited, but also have to think about upgrading our current housing situation to account for one more child. We have 3 bedrooms right now and all are occupied plus we want to move to a town with better schools. So I will be real busy getting my house ready to go on the market and trying to find a new place. A whole lot is going on.

DAVE!!!!

Congratulations, my man!!!!! That is GREAT news.

I am looking forward to the suggestions to follow - personally I think the Choix Supreme is a nice way to go - especially since you WILL be including me in those handouts.

CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN BUDDY!!!!

Kevin

Yeah the Choix's would be my first choice too.

I'm in the same dilema. I will probably get a box of cigar.com cameroons to give to people who are big cigar smokers. No sense wasting expensive cigars on them. I'm still trying to decide on what to get for the real cigar guys. Has anyone had the La Aurora Preferido? I love their 100 Años.

Well you have to consider the non regular cigar smokers.

I'm thinking Phillie Blunts for them.

In all seriousness I will probably get two boxes; one for the serious smoker and ones for guys that will put them in the pockets and maybe smoke them; maybe forget them.

Congratulations brother - get ready for the ride of your life.

As to cigars, heck, C.Com Cuban Labels would be apreciated by one and all, and they won't break the bank!!

You could give Helix a spin. Mellow enough for new folk, and plenty good. And you can get a box of 'em tubed for pretty cheap.

Congratulations!!

I would go with a box of Cusano 18's for the nonsmokers and either Choix Supremes or PSD4's for the smokers. If somebody was accustomed to say Macanudos, some partagas spice may be a bit much though.

F*** those mild sticks fotr the non smokers. If you're getting a stick from me, its gonna have flavour. Probably 5 vegas classic. I can get a good price on them. Any for the smokers; well; we will have to see.

My ususal test for cigars for "semi-smokers" like my 1/month friend is if I'd smoke it in the morning with coffee after a bowl of cereal. Hemmingway, Arturo Fuente, Onyx Reserve, and Cusano 18 Connecticut seem to be my favorites in that category.
Of course I do make mistakes on occasion. Once I gave the aforementioned semi-smoker friend a Rocky Patel Vintage, and he turned green.

As long as I'm posting I might as well pimp one of my favorite cigars of all time: Onyx Reserve. Those things are fantastic. They've got tons of flavor for a medium bodied stick and they're gentle enough the semi-smokers can handle them. The only catch is the pre-light aroma might turn some people off... I think they smell a little rotten. In a good way though, like a fine aged cheese. I think they're great, and they're my semi-smoker friend's favorite stick. They're also moderately priced, right around $5/stick or $80-85/box for the medium sizes.

Personally I'd be tempted to get Hemmingways for a special occasion like this though, just because they're so pretty.

Congratulations Phish!

Cusano It's a (insert baby sex here)! for the non-smokers.

La Aurora 1495 Coronas for the serious smokers.
