Hanging out here has only encouraged my obsession ... much to the chagrin of my wallet. I just came home with:

1 - Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real: Verona's Court Tubo
1 - Zino Platinum: Pudge
1 - Avo Domaine: No. 30
1 - Partagas Black Label: Crystal
1 - Baccarat Natural: Rothschild
(and a ceramic blade cutter :) )

I really need that humidor

5 Oliva Series G Robustos
5 Carlos Torano Exodus 1959 Torpedos
2 Cuesta-Rey Centro Fino Sungrown Pyramid No. 9
1 CAO Italia Ciao

And this is how it all starts... ..Me and the rest of the gang here know where you'll be at six weeks from now. Ask Travis, he knows. Nice pick up on the AVO Domaine, those are great cigars.

Dennis, are those Exodus the Gold or Silver? I beleive the Gold Torpedo just got #5 in CA's top 25 of 2006 list. Those are also great cigars.

Though I only have about 20 sticks in the bank right now, I figured a 100+ humidor would be prudent ... given my proclivity to frightfully geek out on new obsessions.

As long as I'm working 6 weeks from now, chances are your precognition will prove accurate. Yay?

Thats what I'm thinking. Go for a 300ct, you won't regret it. I myself went from 40 to 500ct and thats beginning to get crowded. One thing with humidors is that they never fit as much as advertised, not with beads, oasis, boxes and other stuff packed in there. Your on the right track though

At this rate I'll need that 300 sooner than later

I somehow heard/read about a shortlived line called Diablo which piqued my interest. So I dug up a place that still has a few left for a five pack. Which then lead me to Victor Sinclair (and his Series 55 and Bohemian lines) and a relatively cheap sampler of theirs. So ...

5 - Diablo: Caliente
1 - Victor Sinclair: Connecticut Yankee
1 - Victor Sinclair: Primeros
1 - Series '55' Green Label
1 - Series '55' Yellow Label
1 - Series '55' Blue Label
1 - Series '55' Red Label
1 - Bohemian Bamboo
1 - Bohemian Black
1 - Bohemian Red
1 - Bohemian Original

I will admit that I do make some decisions based on band/label design. Its how I started in wines too. I figure, a brand that shares my aesthetic sense visually, probably has something to offer gastronomically as well. Eventually I find what I like and narrow the field, but until then, I'm just guessing anyway. :D
