Don Pepin Garcia Cuban Classic
RP Olde World Reserve
The Cigar.com one day deal of RP Vintage, Sungrown and Edge, very nice
5 pack of Don Tomas from CBid
And yet another humidor
I really don't think the wife is happy with me now.
I decided to stop by the local shop & hang out for a bit after work today. I smoked an Avo Domaine #30 (~= toro) while I was there. They'd just gotten a box of Perdomo Edicion de Silvio Cameroons in, so I bought one of those to take home on my way out the door. I spent too much time smoking & it was closing time when I finished, so I didn't really do any shopping.
That sampler showed up today. And is housed in my tupperador. Proof that this board, and this thread, really is a bad influence on your wallet. But dang I'm excited to try those things
NOTE ON THE SANCHO'S: many know that i have been going
on and on about these panza maduros and several have
said they plan on trying them. now the "bad" part......
the derned things have the WORST cap you will EVER see!!
every one of them i have bought [from different vendors]
the cap has come off when i punch or cut. and then i have
to keep tounge pasting it down as i smoke.
and all but one has had to be re lit at mid way. have no clue
as to why. but, no probs on the re-light and it heads straight
for the nub!! the over all burn is near perfect untill mid way.
ITS THE TASTE MAN!!! thats why i put up with this. the taste
floots my boat BIG TIME so i over look these flaws.
and flaws they are for sure! i have no idea how a class cigar
manufacturer can miss this cap fiasco! and i have had other
people tell me the same thing about the cap and i have seen
it written on another site by a botl.
so just be forwarned! the pre light is hypnotic in its aroma,
perect draw [for me] and the taste, in my perfect palate
is a 92 rating all the way.
construction is a 79. good thing these are not 8.00 smokes
but if they didnt have these two issues i could see them
being an 8.00 smoke for sure! but why they let this problem
continue, even at 4.00 a stick is not right. but that taste....
I have found that the right amount of moisture pre-cut will keep the caps on those things. ive also found that the extra fuerte line has better caps than the maduros.
i have soaked them, lightly moistened them, poked 'em
dry, talked sweet, rubbed it's belly, threatened, yelled,
promised to flush with the other logs, etc..... :x
NOTHING has worked, so far.
got a tip? i am listening.
and your right about the others. no probs. i can jam a
punch in those dry and no issues.
