What Smokes Did You Buy Today?

Just received an order today from Cigar.com which is amazing since I'm in Phoenix and just placed the order wed. morning before leaving for work. Great job yet again guys, I'm amazed at how I can make an order on wed or thurs and have my smokes by fri or sat.

4 x Blue Label Robusto
4 x Purple Label Robusto
4 x 5 Vegas Classic Panatela
4 x 5 Vegas Classic Gold Nuggets

Wanted to try a few of the 5 Vegas smaller sizes since we're in the 90s & 100s here and I can't smoke inside. Sometimes hanging out on the patio for 2 hours to enjoy a cigar is a bit much.

dejoro - that one day special was quite the deal IMO. If I didn't already have some of the corojo, blue & purple labels I would've gotten one too.

Besides a couple of singles here and there I have not bought anything lately. I used my cigar budget to pay for some classes and textbooks so hopefully sometime soon I will be making more money to buy more cigars with.

Freakin textbook price alone was a box of something decent.

Cloudy, I know the price of textbooks all too well. Towards the end I became like my roomate and just stopped buying them unless I really needed it for the class.

Atleast I won't have to buy an textbooks for a while now.

Didnt buy any smokes recently but have been looking around for an alternative to my coolerdor since its been starting to warm up here in CA. I walked into a local BevMo and came across an Avanti 28 count Thermoelectric wine cooler. I plugged that puppy in and loaded her up!

RH is a teeny bit high since I wiped it down first but she's holding at a lovely 65 degree 68%.RH.

Took a road trip yesterday to a B&M that was holding a Rocky Patel event. Rocky showed up and we all had a great time sitting around smoking and BS-ing.

My take for the day:

1 Box of Vintage 90 Robustos
5 Edge Corojo Torpedos (which I got for free)
1 RP Table-Top Light (which was also free)

My humi's are almost full to the brim at the moment, but I did pick up a Padron 1926 yesterday. It's not for me tho, it's a good friend's birthday next week and I know that's his favorite.

Sounds like a good time Dennis.

Picked up the following stuff yesterday at the local store

2 Saint Luis Rey Reserva Robusto
2 JFR Churchill
2 Padron 2000
2 Tatuaje Noella

Also gave the owner a Cuvee Grand to try and in return he gave me an Illusione F9. Don't know a damn thing about these except that they are a Nicaraguan Puro. Think that might be my late night cigar. 8)

Well, I kept my eye out and saw that they finally became available...

1 box Ashton VSG torpedo's

gonna take a bit of a hit here but from what I've had in singles, they're worth it.

Picked up 8 singles today to help fill up my small 20ct. Humidor.
One each of

RyJ 1865 Aniversario
RyJ Reserva Real
RyJ Vintage
Partagas Black Label (Bravo)

and a 4 pack Tabacalara sampler which had:

RyJ 1865
H. Upmann (Toro)
Montecristo (Toro)
Por Larrañaga (Toro) - never heard of this one so I did some research and sounds like a decent cigar.

The sampler pack caught my eye just as I was walking to the counter so I figure what the heck, I threw it in with the singles.

Ever since I had the RyJ Habana a few weeks ago I've been wanting to try the domestically available ones. Hope they stand up to the Cuban I smoked. It was awesome and I've got to say it's the best I've ever smoked. Blew the Bolivar Habana away. I'll be trying the Cohiba in about 2 months as a birthday smoke. Last time around it didn't impress me a whole lot but my tastes have changed a bit since then. Honestly, 10yrs ago I didn't know anything about cigars and wouldn't have known the difference between a White Owl or an OpusX...

Por Larranaga is from??? I know there is a cuban version. The domestically available smokes are some of the mildest cigars I have ever smoked. Thats not to say that they are not good cigars.

All four are made by Tabacalera (part of what formed Altadis) in the Dominican Republic, and yes, they are all mild or mild to medium. This works for me as a morning smoke or after a brunch/light lunch. I like the fuller bodied smokes once the evening rolls around though. I had the RyJ 1875 today & it was pretty good but I'll take the newer Aniversario over it.

10 Gracliff Vintage 1999 Robusto's
15- RP Vint 2nds 1990 Churchills
10- RP Vintage 1990 Churchills

Won all on auction for excellent pricing!!! :p

Craig,

Are you buying cigars on an online cigar auction site If so, can you let me know which one(s) so I can check them out. Appreciate it.

Rocky Patel event at Kingston Tobacco...

Buy 3, get a RP Sungrown free. So I bought 2 Edges, Corojo and Maduro, and a Nording.

At the end of the event, decided to get 3 more. He was out of Sungrowns, so I got an Olde World Reserve Corojo...awesome! I bought 2 more of the Edge Maduros and one more of the Edge Corojos. I really enjoyed the Edge Maduro I had. It was one of the oiliest cigars I've ever seen. The Nording was definitely a pleasant surprise that I'll be trying more of as well.
