I stopped by the B&M just before halftime of the Purdue game on Saturday.
I hadn't been there in a long while, and I was surprised at some of the changes they made. They used to sell Fuente, Macanudo, and Punch in huge quantities and varieties, with a select handful of other labels tossed in for variety.
I was surprised to find that they have added Rocky Patel, Partagas, Torano, and CAO in some quantity, and they widened their selections of Montecristo, Ashton, RyJ, and a few others. Also, much to my delight, they now carry more Padron's than just the half-full box of 3000 naturals that had been sitting on the shelf since time out of mind.
So I made myself a little sampler as quickly as I could (Purdue was up 31-0 at the half) and promised myself that I'll have to go back someday when I have more time to linger.
I picked up one of each:
Arturo Fuente 8-5-8 Flor Fina Cameroon
Arturo Fuente Corona Imperial Maduro
CAO Brazilia Gol
La Gloria Cubana Corona Gorda Sumatra
Montecristo Media Noche Edmundo (for a friend)
Punch Rare Corojo Pita
Rocky Patel Segundo Robusto (Natural)
Rocky Patel Segundo Robusto (Maduro)
I also got a 3-pack of Partagas
1 Partagas Naturales
1 Partagas Black Clasico
1 Partagas Spanish Rosado San Augustin
As I browsed, I noticed that the hygrometer was reading 48% and 67 degrees, so I'm thinking I'll be letting these rest in the humidors for a while, which is too bad, because a few of them are new to me and I was really looking forward to trying one.
By the way, Purdue won 45-22, and I celebrated with a few boilermakers (homebrewed brown ale with Maker's Mark back) and a Cigar.com Cuban Label Churchill.
