Is a glass full of distilled water just as good as a humidifier? and for cigars that come in a tube, is it suggested to keep the tube closed, like leaving a cellaphane wrapper on? What about cigars that come with neither in a box. do you keep the box closed while in the humidor?

My humidor is pretty stable with the humidity but the temp seems to go up into the 75s in the summer time. I took the humidor to the basement level and it drops to 65-68f. Are there any tips or tricks to keep it around 70 degrees or is 65-68 an alright temperature?
