Breaking in it right now with some C&D Bed and Breakfast (two friends blend)

What do C&D Autumn Evening and a bad dog have in common?

They both like to bite! Although it has a great flavor and aroma, it needs to be smoked ever so slow. Needs a bit of drying out of the tin as well. It seems it's best when right on the verge of going out. Although I highly recommend it for an aromatic, muster up all the patience you can while...

Anybody got a decent pipe laying around.... possible trade

I was just browsing and thinking of buying a pipe and thought I'd check here first. Anyone interested in trading a decent pipe they don't use anymore for a few premium cigars? The humi is packed to the gills and I have a lot of really fine cigars in there and I wouldn't mind trading some for a...

    Cornell & Diehl

Put in an order about 30-40 minutes before they closed on Friday. Since Monday was a holiday, it didn't ship until Tuesday, and here it is Thursday and it's in my mailbox. Three day delivery time from NC to AZ, not bad. The lady was very friendly and helpful. I got 2oz cans of Espresso (#305)...

    tobacco samplers?

Anyone have leads on where to get pipe tobacco samples/samplers online? I'm talking about 1oz or so of a particular kind. An inexpensive way to try out a number of flavors without having a pile to get rid of if you don't like it. Like a cigar sampler that has 6 different models of...

I just wanted to let you guys know..

That I hate you guys.... :) No really though, you guys talking about pipe tobacco made me buy a few pipes, accessories, and I have 9 different samples coming in from Cornell and Diehl next week (very very nice people btw.) So not only do I have to support my salt water fish/reef & cigar...

    Pipe resting

So I have read and understand that a good briar pipe needs to rest for 24-48 hours to dry out...does this mean that if you smoke more than one bowl a day, you need more than one pipe for that day? Is this drying time for 1 bowls worth...and finally, do meerschaum pipes need to rest?

    Expanding my piping knowledge...

Ok, so here's a few questions I've been thinking about.... 1) This might seem silly to some, but if a cigar's blend derives from an even burn of its fillers, binder(s), wrapper(s), is it technically concievable to grind up a cigar and smoke it in a pipe, lol...I know that sounds ridiculous...

I'm officially in the pipe n00b club

So a friend of mine hooked me up with a NICE W.O. Larsen pipe. I have been wanting to try pipe smoking, so I have just opened up pandora's box. Let the tasting begin. Seems like the varieties of pipe tabacco are more complicated than Cigar leaf. Any suggestions for some sweet stuff?

    The joy of discovery...

I must say....just as there is a difference between "dept store" or "gas station" cigars...the same goes for pipe tobacco...in a big, big, way. I recently recieved my 2oz sampler from Cornell&Diehl, and wow. Stronger, much tastier, with no unpleasant tastes, spicier, yet cooler on the tongue...

    Question

When I smoke, and misture builds upto make the bubbling sound, is this indicative of a good fresh tobacco? Doesn't bother me at all, just curious.
