I am now in the second month of my cigar smoking experience..woo hoo!.... I feel I have tried a decent veriety of smokes, but everything I try seems to fall into the "medium" catagory, at least to me. Could you guys recommend a good FULL bodied cigar for me to try so that I have something to reference to? I have not had anything that I thought had a "Kick" to it, as so many of you have mentioned. I do not want to drop a bundle on one, $10 or less would be good. Thanks.

Many of padron's cigars are a full bodied experience. They range from $2-3 dollars for the 2000 and 3000 line all the way up to the 1964 and 1926 lines which are very full bodied smokes, but pricey.

Some I enjoy are 5 Vegas Series 'A', El Cobre by Oliva, Camacho Coyolar, CAO Brazilia, Edge by Patel

Try an "H Bomb", Camacho Coyolar Perfecto #1. $5.00

Another good, cheapest I can find is the Padron 2000 $3.00

If those don't do it for ya, Let us all know when you find something with a little more "kick"

El Rico Habano, with the rosado wrapper. I'm wracking my brain here, because I avoid full bodied cigars. I'd say a small Opus X, but it would be hard to get one in the price range you mentioned. You might want to try a La Flor Dominicana 2000, in a small size like No. 2, right out of the box. With age, they'll weaken somewhat, but brand new, that's a strong cigar. Also, they make a couple of other lines aimed specifically at the full bodied smoker, but I forget their names right now.

All of those are great recomendations. The Camacho Coyolar perfecto packs a punch. If yo try one, make sure its on a full stomach. I was seasick after the one I had. Its a good cigar, but it beat me up. If you want to ease your way int the full bodied cigars, I'd go with the CAO brazilia line. Those are great smokes. Wonderful flavor, but some are a little tight on the draw.

Don Lino Africa, RP Edges of course, Partagas Black Lables, CAO Sopranos but $ would be tight, CAO MX2's but those are in short supply, generally anything Comacho, and Fuente Chateau Cuban Belicosos (sun grown).

Thanks for all the suggestions...you guys always come through for me. I have one CAO brazilia resting in my humi now, so will try it, and maybe pick up a Camacho as well. I am not really wanting to get "into" full bodied cigars at this point. I just want one that I KNOW is full bodied that I can use as a standard to judge others by... I guess I just don't know what constitutes a full bodied cigar compaired to a medium one. I have smoked several 5 Vegas A and did not think they were strong... I guess I just expected a full bodied cigar to punch me in the mouth..lol. Anyway I am more about flavor at this point than I am strength. I guess I am still a little confuse on how the two correlate to each other, if in fact they do at all. Thanks again.

I agree with Dbrad on the El Cobre. Also, I know its more than 10 bucks, but the Graycliff espresso is VERY full bodied.

Try the La Gloria Cubana Serie R.

I was going to also throw in CAO Brazilia, but I have heard from some folks that they don't really consider those all that full bodied.

The LGC Serie R Maduros are an old favorite of mine. Won't smoke one until it's spent at least six months to a year in my humidors, though. Maybe that's full bodied enough for Spider, maybe not. :dunno: :D

I have tried the LGC and have another in the humi...will give it another try as well. I guess it looks like I have already had several full bodied smokes...just did not know what to expect from them.

The CAO brazilia line is on the full bodied side, just not as dry as some others that are out there. They definately have a rich and dark flavor. Really good. The Padron line is really good to get your feet wet. The 2000 is an awesome smoke. I had one last night and didn't even put it out when I got pulled over by a State patrolman. If I'm gonna sit by the side of the road, at least I'm going to have a cigar while I wait.

Ouch! sorry to hear you got pulled over.

I had a Padron 1964 Anniversary Maduro Monarca during the Superbowl... how would you compair it to say the 2000?

Hey spider, how is it going? That CAO is just a wonderfull smoke. I love the flavor of those babys. I would not call it strong, but just really tastey.

La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Chisel Tip. $6 or so.

Fuente Canones. $7 or so

JR. Ultimate Toro. About $3

I found the Ashton VSG, and the OpusX dbl. corona to be FULL bodied. Maybe you should spring for one of those to give you a good foundation. I concider the RP edge corojo to be a med body cigar. I thought the 5 Vegas was mild to med. I just smoked a Comancho corojo (my first one) and I found it to be mild to med. The few Cohiba (DR) I have smoked I found to be med to full. Hope this helps.

Opus xXx and #5

LFD Lancero

El Cobre Robusto

These are a few of my favorite things. 8)
