Coffee Box Pass?

Mine went out earlier today:

Brenda 0305 1720 0002 3022 9390
Kelvin 0305 1720 0002 3022 9383
Capt 0305 1720 0002 3022 9413

Going to take the coffee to the PO now. I will have the DC numbers when I get back. Thank you all for your patience!!

Brenda:

Got your coffee and sticks! Thank you very much...the beans smell great - might be having some this afternoon now - New Guinea Fair Trade.

I got excited when I saw the box - it said FRAGILE all over it. I thought "Must be Italian!"...sorry, bad Christmas story joke.

Thanks again, I hope my package gets to you today.

Sorry again about not getting tracking numbers - after looking at Brenda's box - I checked out the USPS site and now I know what I am doing. I will get it done for the future box passes!

Due to my delay in shipping, I am going to include an extra little gift in each of your packages. Each one will be different. I hope you enjoy! Once again, sorry for the delay!

My friend, there is no such thing as a bad christmas story joke.

My favorite holiday tradition; annoying the wife by watching that movie all day.

I say that all the time. The joke never gets old.

When my mail carrier handed me the package it was the first thing I said to him.....he just bust out laughing.

It is on for the full 24 hours at my house. I am still waiting for my son to accept the triple dog dare and go for the flag pole. I know eventually he will.

Got my packages from Kelvin and Brenda - you guys are awesome!

Brenda, the cigar with the D label - what kind is that?

I'll have to make a pot of one of these tonight!

I know I'm being picayune here, but as I was catching up on actually doing my job around here instead of being The Village Idiot, something came to mind. It is going to take this box of coffee a while to make the rounds, no? And of course, while the coffee will be consumed not too soon after being placed in the box, what about the fact that even if only a little bit, some deterioration, and therefore, freshness considerations might set in?

Isn't there some kind of portable ice pack thingy, that you can renew by putting it in the freezer? It's just a thought, but perhaps the box should contain something like that to keep it cool inside the box, and therefore all the coffee stays almost first day fresh longer.

Bloof - yeah, that was a concern - we changed it to really be a pass.

Each of us mailed separate passes to each of the other 3 people. So more of an exchange than a pass. I got my packages from Brenda and Kelvin today. Capt's should be here next week and my packages should get to these guys tomorrow or Monday.

I'd like to do a pass, but I think coffee is a little too tough, weight and packaging, to really fit a pass format.

I think in the future if we do something like this and have more than 4 people, that we should have some sort of random selection - each person gets 3 of the other people in the group - that would keep the expense and time required down.

That's a good idea.

I just had my second pot of the Fair Trade New Guinea from Brenda. Great Coffee! I really enjoyed this coffee Brenda - nice choice. I am looking forward to trying the others.

I sheepishly admit that I had been drinking hazelnut coffee up until recently. Flavored coffees are a thing of the past now.

This has been a real eye opener for me!

Hooray! I'm glad you liked it, Kelvin.
