We don't even notice -10 any more, some winters that is a balmy spring day. Now -28C with a 10 K wind, that is cold! A few years ago we had a January when it didn't get above -28 for over 25 days. THAT is cold!

you guys suck

I get cold when it goes below 60. Luckily it does't do that too often.

It's been a mild winter here for the most part...

Bachelorhood has many benefits, including smoking whenever I want in the house. Couldn't imagine being out in the cold to enjoy a good smoke.

I have noticed that my dog buries her head under the couch pillows when I fire up though...

I'm up all night adjusting my schedule to work nights this week. Of course, TODAY the cold front rolls through. It's in the 40s. To me, that's quite cold enough. I don't know what I'll do if I go to law school up north next year. I'll have to suck it up during the winter, but I'm not 100% sure that my wife won't come back to South Carolina for the winter.

When I retire, I ma gooing to spend one winter away from winter in a nice warm place. I do not know if I could do that evey year - winter is very invigorating - but I would like to spoil myself just once with that experiance.

By the way it went up to +5C today for about an hour, normals are about -22 to -25C. Where is winter this year?????

Gee Bikeman I was wandering around in a short sleeve shirt this afternoon here in the great state of Texas :)

Brenda, Call us in July! Here it's 75-85 with gorgeous breezes. How's AZ then?

Of course, in winter, I just give up cigars, except for those rare days. I need a winter house in AZ! I did have a nice cigar.com Cuban Label last Sunday, though. It was about 65 and sunny. What a January miracle!

Cheers! -JWG

Just thought I would revive another weather discussion from days past.

Living in Eastern Washington, it can get pretty cold in the winter. So I bought a 46,000 BTU Fire Sense outdoor heater. Anything above 30 degrees and I am very comfortable and can spend a normal amount of time smoking a stick (usually 1 to 1-1/2 hours). I have a nice lounge chair and throw a blanket over my legs. My dogs even like hanging out there with me.

My time gets significantly reduced when it gets under 15 degrees (about 1/2 hour) and I hate leaving an unfinished cigar. So I'll grab something that I know smokes a little quicker like a Nub.

My wife often joins me outside in the cold (with a glass of wine). The best time is when it's snowing. There's something really relaxing about the quietness of snowfall, the company of a wonderful wife and a good cigar.

It gets pretty cold here and I'm skeptical about getting it warm enough to enjoy a smoke while relaxing in a chair and drinking something. I do not smoke indoors, so winters are tough for me and smoking. Hopefully that rodent from Pennsylvania has it right about only 5 more weeks of winter.
