Hello all. I am very pleased to have recently found these forums and Cigar.com as a website and resource. I have been enjoying cigars for 3-4 years, with Partagas and their like as my "every-day" smokes.

I have some favorite smokes, with the Feunte Feunte Opus X as my top choice (no way I could handle it on a regular basis though, I'm a light weight :) ). I keep a spreadsheet on all the cigars I smoke, rating them, keeping notes on each stick, the most recent date of each smoke, etc. I can only enjoy Cubans on my rare trips to Toronto and Mexico/ Caribbean. I haven't tried too many "boutique" cigars, but Cigar.com can help there as well, with their individual cigar ordering.

I placed my first Cigar.com order on Sept. 24, consisting of some cigars I have been wanting to try for some time. I have hesitated ordering some of them because I had only been able to find them in box quantity; what a great find Cigar.com is!

My order consisted of:
a Montecristo White 6.63 x 44, a Hoyo de Monterrey Coronas, 5.63 x 46, a Padron 1964 Anniversary Exclusivo, 5.5 x 50, a Romeo y Julieta 1875 Churchill, 7 x 50, and 3 Cigar.com Cuban Label Robusto, 5 x 50.

They arrived well packaged with 2 layers of packing "pillows" and in a nice plastic bag with zipper. It also contained a little bag with a moist ...ball or something. (What is this thing? It's fantastic that Cigar.com cares about the humidity levels in shipping!)
(As an aside, why do so many companies ship packages with the product placed in the box first and then the packing pillows placed on top? I know it's important to keep products for bouncing around in the box, but doesn't it make more sense to place a packing pillow layer, then the product, and then the second packing layer? This way the product isn't right against the outside wall of the box.)
The Montecristo had a 1" tear in the wrapper around the foot, which was disappointing, I am really looking forward to this one.

I have smoked two of the cigars, the Cigar.com Cuban Label Robusto and the Hoyo de Monterrey Coronas. The Cigar.com Cuban Label really surprised me, with a really nice draw, an almost sweet taste, great smell, and it burned evenly throughout. I did experience an excess amount of tobacco pieces from the tip in the beginning of the smoke. I'll be ordering a box of these soon.

The Hoyo de Monterrey Coronas was full bodied and I *think* I detected vanilla? The cigar went out almost immediately after lighting it, and went out 5 more times after that. It was a little too full-bodied for me, and had an aftertaste I didn't like. After the 6th time re-lighting it, I gave up with half the cigar left.

I'm looking forward to smoking the Padron along with the others, I'm going to let them age in the humi for awhile.

Good times, good times... :)

ive gotten a couple damaged cigars in the mail too, its unavoidable unless you take the time to wrap each cigar individualy with foam or somthing. though if you buy full boxes that doesnt happen.

Yes, any Padrón cigar and those Montecristo Whites are some great somokes. Definitely two of my favorites!
