My hat is off to you. I thought you were much older. What maturity for a young man. Be Proud. I am.
Learn, ask questions and be willing to think outside the lines. I love a good Vodka on the rocks or better straight from the freezer. My current favorite is Grey Goose, but love the taste of a true potato vodka- some Polish brands are available- great flavor but must be consumed very cold.
One day I'll post the story of my trip to Moscow in 1977 for 14 days. People were wonderful- Party Officials sucked. The people and I outsmarted them, and we had a great party in the snow- Winter of 1977. State Department had to get me out of a political fix.

I might as well jump in with the cool kids an post here too! It's cool to learn where everyone is from! Anyhow,
My name is Aimee and I'm way out in Wyoming. I've been smoking for coming up on 3 years and I'm 21. In high school I sparked my interest in cigars but it wasn't until moving in with my boyfriend that I really got into them. It's tough to find anyone out here that understands the hobby of cigar smoking so obviously this is my sanctuary. My favorite place to smoke is outdoors but 90% of the time the weather doesn't allow for it, either it's snowing or it is waaaayy too windy. The living room is never a bad place to light one up.
My favorites are just about anything CAO, La Aurora 100 Anos, Romeo y Julieta Maduro or any RyJ for that matter, A. Fuente 8-5-8 Maduro, Montecristo White all of them robusto, the perfect size. Maduro is something I'm really getting into lately. But there's so much out there to explore in the world of cigars that it's hard to just settle on one and I have yet to buy a whole box of anything!
I generally like having Coke or Pepsi with my cigars but a good cigar malt is a good way to go or a very dirty martini brings out a lot of flavor and cuts down some of the spicy. And in case anyone didn't already know, I love chocolate and just about anything having to do with chocolate, and that includes cigars with chocolate tones.
And that's me!

Bildo thanks for the kind words. I might as well jump in here. I live in Chicago but originally grew up in St. Louis. I am 25 soon to be 26 and have been smoking since the tender age of 14. Favorite brand is Camacho and favorite cigar is the Diploma (big suprise there). I love meat, shooting guns, hunting game birds, and movies. Enjoy a fine scotch and am slowly breaking into wine (it is kind of over whelming). Graduate of DePauw University in 2002 in Greencastle Indiana.

Great responses....!

I should chime in a little as well....

I have been smoking and researchig cigars since around 14 as well. I live in Chicago and graduated with a Fiction Writing Degree from Columbia College. I just turned 25 May 1st.

Some Favorite Cigars right now, in no particular order are:
Aurora 100 Anos, Opus X Fuente Fuente, DIPLOMA, Partagas Serie D, Davidoff Special R Tubos...

I also Enjoy a good micro brew with a stick, but I also enjoy a good Scotch, (which my close smoking buddy Macallan is getting me into), also a good wine and especially Port.

I can see why you like 100 Anos Cobsgirl, there are a lot of chocolate notes in that cigar, especially the pre-light aroma...

I've been learning from these forums for a few weeks now, so it's time I pitch in about myself. I'm a 38-year-old teacher in NY. I moved here about 2 years ago from the midwest. Before I left, a friend out there introduced me to cigars and I caught the habit pretty quickly. He likes really sweet, honey-dipped kinds of things, but I find I like the harder stuff. I only smoke outside, since I've got an understanding wife who's not THAT understanding, so it's not a year-round habit. I've started early this season, however. I just bought a humidor, and stocked it with some to try (blue and red labels, 90-plus sampler), and a few favorites: cuban label (which I really like!), fuentes, cohibas, monetcristos. I also love the cigar of the month clubs, which are a great way to try new sticks. These forums are great for learning new things about cigars, but given the last few posts, I'm feeling a bit old! This a great bunch of folks to visit with on line. Oh, and I love cigars best with my old friend Scotch. I thought I'd call my screen name JWB (Johnnie Walker Black), but I went with JWG (Johnnie Walker Green) instead--hey, I can dream about $50 bottles! :)

JWG I thought I could make you feel a little better. I am 58 and it is total azaming what I have learned from these young people in just a few weeks. This forum is great. Macallan if you are ever in the South Dakota area we might chase down a few pheasants and smoke a good stick or two.

Jonnie Walker Green, that is a favorite of mine as well.

Cakes, I have heard the bird hunting out your way is increadable. Since pheasant are not very native out here I relly on a lot of preserve hunting.

I've been posting for a few weeks on the main forum, and thought I'd intorduce myself formally here. My name is Paul, my wife Christy and I have been avid cigar smokers for a little over 2 years, with my experience stretching across 10 years of dabbling, I am 32 she is 27. She enjoys Romeo y juliet's, montecristo, I enjoy Gurkha's, Fuentes, Cohiba, La Aurora, greycliff. I'm a computer infrastructure test engineer, and she manages a 700+ unit corporate housing/apartment complex. I have loved this forum so far, everyone's input and opinions are very professional, and I look forward to being a daily visitor for quite sometime!

Regards,
Paul and Christy

Steve here.
Quit cigarettes about 2 years ago and started my forray into cigars about 6 months ago...smoked cigars over the years but never took them seriously.

Rank amateur but learning by leaps and bounds. This site has helped alot. I like it here. Good people it seems. Eventually, I'll have time and the smokes to get in on a box pass...not ready yet.

In my late 40s and have been in various martial arts most of my life. Keeps me happy fit and young. Big into guns, hunting...anything outdoors.........

Big beer snob and home brewer, but I'm currently not drinking beer. I have to drop the weight I gained by not smoking. Tanqueray and Diet tonic with lime is my current choice...that and Glenmerangie single malt highland scotch.

Smoking one or two sticks a week...on rare occasions a few more.
No real favoites yet...working on it! :D

Macallan, this is considered by some the pheasant capital of the world. I do not do the preserve thing, I save my green for crown reserve and cigars. Here it is walk on land or still at age 58 by far the most enjoyable is road hunting. Nothing better than having to put down a good cigar, get out of truck, shoot bird, have dog pickup bird and retreive, get back in car and start all over again. Life is good.

RAVYN,

What martail art do you study. I teach an Aikido class here in chicago 2 nights a week and am a shodon under the american aikido institute.

I haven't been up there for the bird hunting yet but I've heard great things. wyoming isn't a bad spot to hit for birds if you know where to go and also it's great for antelope and mule deer.

Ah, Morihei Ueshiba! What a great martial artist. I've read some of his work. Got involved in Tang Soo Do Karate in the 80's and studied for almost 10 years. Its a korean art. Mostly puching and kicking. Integrated in the art is another korean art...Hapkido...its a grappling art similar to ju jutsu. I'm sure ther are some similarities to aikido. During that time I was introduced to Kendo and Iai. From there, I found a medieval recreation group that fought full contact with wooden weapons in armor. I have been doing that since the mid 90's. Single sword, two handed sword, polearms and halberds and spear. Single combat and melee combat. Great fun :D During all this time I am always a student of the defensive pistol. I used to shoot IPSC but it became too game oriented so I have moved to IDPA...its alittle better.

Wow quite accomplished. It sounds like you have studied some very practical stuff. I hate how much some arts have been "waterdowned" after the delethalization of martial arts many years ago. I love finding people involved with and reading about the roots of martail arts and samurai culture. I like the obscure arts. I started in Tae Kwon Do in the earkt 90's then in the late 90's moved over to aikido. That medieval stuff sounds kind of cool. Here is a pic from a class last month. I am the one being thrown. If you have a pic of you bouting in armor please post it, sounds interesting.

i used to work with a guy that did that renaisance stuff. he had a full suit of armor and a sword, they would all get together and beat eachother senceless then drink beer. he was also a big history buff so he was really into the renaisance thing, right down to the lingo lol.

Mac,
Good pic! Is your opponent rolling you over his hip and pulling on your right arm? I have tons of combat pics. I going out of town tomorrow and will be back next week. I'll find a site to host pics and I'll upload a few. I have several harnesses from early cloth and leather to full steel.
This coming winter, I will probaby(hopefully :) ) build samurai armor.
Jihiggs...sounds like some people I know :D

I'm not a fan of the fluff stuff, which is what alot of american martial arts have become. I'm more into the Jutsu aspect as opposed to to the Do...

I came across some writing that really brought to light my thoughts on self defense and hand to hand combat. If you get a chance read this stuff. I gained alot of insight from this guy. Changed my thinking some.

Thanks for the link. On that particular shot I was running head on trying to tackle the Nage (person throwing me) and the strike was to my throat while he took my arm. With the opposing forces colliding I has pushed backed so fast that I could not fall backwards safely and was forced the rotate my hips which in turn is what generated this particular throw. Again thanks for the article and PM me any more links, I love reading this stuff.

Been lurking around off and on for awhile. My name is Eric. I live in Sioux City, IA with my wife and 5 children. My hobbies? Well, I have 5 children. I an NFL, NBA and NASCAR fan. Also do a lot of fishing. My favorite smokes, La Gloria Cubana Serie R, Camacho Corojo, Hoyo de Monterrey, Flor de A Allones, and all from the Sancho Panza collection. Been a regular cigar smoker for about 5 years, although I have smoked them off and on for 15 or 20.

Hey guys, I'm a new person. I've lurked here a little while, and I feel like I know some of you from your posts. My name is Jeff and I'm a horse trainer from Va. Because of my job, I'm outside a lot so I can smoke a lot of cigars. I probably smoke at least 4 a day. I'm a former cigarette smoker which makes me enjoy the stronger and more flavorful cigars. I've gotten a few good suggestions from reading your posts. I'll enjoy continuing to learn from you guys.
