I went into the humidor today and really enjoyed something that I often overlook. When I was younger I loved tennis. I will never forget the familiar smell when I would crack open a new can of tennis balls. It was like a refreshing aroma that made me think of all the reasons I loved playing. I have not played in a while but today when I went into my humidor I ran my regular box inspections of my aging smokes to give them a "checkup"
When I age my cigars I take them out of cello, rebox them and put them away. When I open that box and take in a nice big wiff off the top of the cigars I get that same feeling I would from the tennis balls. A rich tobacco smell of oils glazing the wrappers. Yummy.
For those of you guys who only have puchesed a box that comes cello, do yourself a favor and next time you are at the shop, have your tobacconist open a box of uncellod cigars and take it all in. Especially the diplomas or even better, a fine box of cubans.
I just thought I would share my moment with everyone. It was really kind of sappy.
