I got hit with U-webtemplate yesterday on my credit card. Called today to find out what is and mbna didn't know if it was a scam but they allowed me to contest it. So hopefully the charge gets dropped. I may look to change my card number.

Edit: I changed my card number and have disputed the charge.

I got one on-x inc minneapolis mn posted 5-15 for $9.95 on my debit card.

Thank you Teddy I would have never have caught it with out this post

Not a problem man. Thats what this site is about helping friends out weither it being sharing info about cigars or watchin each others back. I know if these crooks are found they would have a bunch of cigar guys and one ill latin lady on there hands. hehe

wow im glad i posted about this i had no idea that they would have gotten this many people. I actually thought that it was paypal that my info was released through, but now that i think of it i i bought something from cigarbid that got charged on monday. I cant stand a damn theif. i was so irate yesterday i even sent in a email to CNN to see if they had any information on it.

I had to wait to let the charges for my girls bday presents pass before i send for my new card.

The main reason i even found the charge was due to the fact that i got an email from bank of america informing me that my account had been blocked. I thought this was wierd being as that ive never had a BofA bank account. I hope the guys go down hard and get bubba for a cell mate.

That BOA account scam is to get you to logon to a site that looks just like the real site( if you have an account) Nevr respond to an e-mail always log on to the site itself or call the company/bank if they say there is a problem. As for the WEBTEMPLATE scam, it looks like it might be with CC's using that cardsystems payment . My CC doesn't use it and I have not been hit as of yet....hope this helps narrow it down.

I got hit too

ON-X INC MINNEAPOLIS MN for $9.95. This has to come from cigarbid.com, as I have not ordered anything from cigar.com for a while.

Where in the hell is this coming from? Anyone else have this charge?

For What it is worth, here in the info I have found

Contact InformationCompany Name: On-x INC

I've never used cigarbid.com and got nailed with ON-X

ERRRRR.......I come into the cigar lounge to relax and read some good stories. Then I read this. Then I check my c.c. statement.
:x
They got me for 9.95 too.It would not matter if it was 995.00 or .09 it still makes you feel used.I have started the dispute process.
Thanks for the information.

Don't forget...

If you got hit with this charge, you should IMMEDIATELY cancel your card, and be re-issued a new card with a NEW number.

I received my new CC 1 day after disputing/canceling my CC. My CC bank (Chase) sent my replacement Next Day delivery! Talk about service.

U-Webtemplate also uses the following "names" on your CC and charge $9.95 unless otherwise noted:

DYNAMIC-WEBTEMPLATES.com 770-573-0579

SUNSOFTSYSINC.com 480-452-0120

TB-TEMPLATE.com 215 310-1283

Z-WEB-TEMPLATES.com 612-216-1257

MOBALL 757-695-9137 VA ($14.95)

ABSOLUTE-SOFT.com

KCSOFTLLC.COM ROCHESTER NY

The above info taken from TeddyG's original link to make it more visible.

Be sure to report the charges as FRAUDULENT rather than disputing it.

Yep, just got a CC bill in the mail, and there it was. u-webtemplate.com from PA. $9.95.

Called the CC company and they are reversing the charges, but what's to stop these guys from doing this again? Even if you are issued a new card, any time you use it online you run the risk of being subjected to this sort of BS.

Got me too....This is really rediculous. I have used my card faithfully for over 7 years online and now over the past year I have had 6 different incidents, and It's not like I'm using it in non reputable places.

such is life I suppose...Too many lazy ass people who can't earn an honest buck like the rest of us working stiffs.

i talked to visa and they seem to believe this goes back to when the company they were using to process the credit cards with was hacked. over 40 million numbers were stolen. they seem to think that since i cancelled my old card and got a new one i should be okay now. lets hope so. :D

Bumping this back to life for those who may not be aware of this scam.

Well after a little more searching I found this post. The On-x inc got me too back on 5/16. My wife just found it while doing our check books. Any new info on this scam????

Well I have ordered from cigar.com and CI and I didn't get hit.

Sorry to hear about this.

Regards
Martin

Thanks to this tread I went back and found a U-web charge on my card and had it removed. That was a while ago, and now today I got my statement with a charge from:
TOBACCO PRODUCTS FULFL for $9.95. I called the company and actually spoke with someone who said I placed an order for cigars for that amount... couldn't tell me what the order was for or when I placed it or when I would get it.

Might be another scam, might be an honest mistake on their part. But I know I didn't order anything so I have no idea how they got my information. When I order cigars, I usually sit here giddy as a schoolgirl obsessively checking the tracking information to see if it inched closer to me from the last time I checked 15 minutes ago. Just another thing to look out for.
