What Havana did you smoke today?

Last night, after talking with Barco who had just smoked the same cigar, I smoked a RyJ Escudos EL 2007 that had been in my humidor for two months.

I was extremely impressed with this cigar. Extremely smooth, pretty mellow with a huge caramel flavor to it. It was sweet and had notes of coffee. Towards the end you could taste cocoa and leather. Another thing that stood out was the smell of the smoke - it was unbelievably aromatic. Almost like pipe tobacco. I have a couple stashed away for OBX - can't wait to smoke one again.

I had an 02' SP Corona last night. Very tasty, but very complex. The last 1/3 of it had flavors I have never experienced before. Anyone know what it was?

The last third of it tasted herbal and had coffee flavor in it - at least that was what I tasted. I will be picking a box of these up in the fall.

I got the coffee out of it. I was thinking something herbal, but could not place it. It really baffled me b/c it really triggered my spidey senses like I should know what it was, but i just could not figure out what it was.

RA Giagantes late last night with a 750 of La Fin Du Mond. I love the RA. Wonderful earthy falvors. This has become my favorite RA smoke.

HillBilly, your awesome.

We did a RyJ Escudo on the back deck Sunday night...

Oh man great cigair. coffee and coca in the first third, to a earth creamy flavoring. I liked.

Today's smoke is an 06 Vegas Robaina Unicos. This is a nice cigar, but I think I prefer the Famoso which has a better concentration of flavors.

In celebration of passing the Civil Service exam today, I smoked an '06 RASS. I have to tell you, this is my favorite cigar. The burn was perfect with nice cashew flavors that turned into coffee bean. I paired it with a bottle of Chimay.

Several mooks know my story, but for those who don't, I am currently in the Fire Academy. I applied for a fire fighter position and have been studying my a$$ off to pass this test. This test is critical because I am soon to be 35. The city that I want to work in only has the test once a year. So if I failed this one, I would have to wait a year to retake it, which would put me at almost 36. You have to be hired before your 36 birthday for civil service jobs. As said, I took the test this morning and passed!!!! Now I have to train for the physical agility portion that will be in October. Thanks to all you guys that encouraged me! (except for Chris and Kevin, of coarse. :D With friends like those two, who needs enemies? LOLOLOL)

Thanks fellas!

Thats great dustin

Being a public servant myself, helping others is a wonderful feeling. Just put your mind to it and anything is possible.

Chris and I just finished some 9 year old ERDM Choix Supremes with 20 year Port on the back deck in OBX. Damn, what a great combo - I talk about this combo all of the time - just glad to be able to share it with the Yuma Bomber.

Smoked an 01 Hoyo churchill last night. Pretty nice smoke over all. Mild but nice flavor.

Partagas Series D No.4. Sometimes a Hillbilly deserves something nice!

I just finished a Los Statos De Luxe Selectos. The first half of the cigar was very smooth, light , and creamy. The last half was somewhat harsh. The burn was uneven throughout this rough, veiny cigar. Overall it wasn't too bad. I knew what to expect when I lit it. You get what you pay for, I have ten more in the humi.

I smoked an 07' RJ Exhibition No4. Not a fan of the RJ line and this one did not really change my opinion. It was better than most RJ i have had, but it lacked much of anything. Great burn and draw, but quite ordinary really.
