Ok so I may be a bit late on this by a couple posts but here it is.

Write a review of a cigar you smoke. Be creative and have fun. This will run for one week. at that time I will pick the best three and put it up to a forum vote. This can be your first review or your 1000. Just have fun

Chris

What a tough contest!
Should be easy for cigarsmoka or kuzi.

... and awaaaaay we go!!

11-10-06 been in humi since… never. Fresh from the gas station
54* sunny
White owl Extra blunts peach 4 ¾ x 41
Filler: ?
Wrapper: ?

Pre light smell is very peach. It reminds me of peach iced tea that I love so much in the summer. Cut with a … oh wait.
Draw is too easy and the tip is sugared. It feels dry.

First few puffs: Actually has some spice to it. Very bitter aftertaste. That can be counteracted by licking the lips and getting some sugar.
Doesn’t taste like peach. The aroma smells like it though… sort of.

First ash at just over ¼ of an inch. The “taste” is building and the sugar is running out. I’m not sure how this will be when that happens. It puts out tons of smoke. The aftertaste now tastes like a very bitter version of peach.

Half way point. Same not good taste. No burn issues though. That’s a plus.
Sugar is no longer there.
Last few puffs. I can’t take it any more. 2 inches left. I’m done

Burn time: 20 crappy min

Burn: 10
Draw: 8
Construction: umm… not sure what to say here.
Taste: 5
After taste: 4
Appearance: 6

Over all: 6.6

This is a repost of my thoughts on the CAO Criollo from a few months ago. Is it OK to enter it here?

CAO Criollo ???

I've had 3 of these in my humi for about 6 weeks and decided to fire one up tonight. One word - D I S A P P O I N T E D ! ! !

About three minuets in, the cap started to come loose on one side. I tried to use the "lick, stick & toast" method to repair it but every time it got a little moist it came loose again. It wasn't long before the wrapper started to resemble the ribbon of a cheep Christmas bow. Using the 4-finger grip, I managed to hold it together long enough to smoke about half of it and that was plenty. While this cigar had a lot of flavor, the flavor it had was very much one-dimensional. Just lots of peppery- spicy-blah.
I guess it could have just been a bad stick, or maybe it needs to age some more. I will try another in a few months. I sure hope the second one is better than the first.

Damn, I had a really good idea for a review and just havent had any time to work on it. Maybe tommorow night if Chris extends the deadline.

What the hell, here goes:

La Aurora 1495 Robusto
Smoked in my living room late night.
Beverage of choice: Water

Tasting starts ominously when a blade falls out of my cutter slicing a nice neat hole into my leather couch. Lighter also sputters as I am trying to toast the foot, no problem. I set the lighter and the ashtray on the couch and go to look for some cedar and a match.

Returning from the other room I notice that when I got up the ashtray tipped sideways and my prize stick is now about 4 inches deep inside my fresh tear in my couch. Too make matters worse my lighter obviously was leaking and theres a bluish flame surrounding the end of the cigar that is sticking out making it impossible to grab and remove. Oops.

While I draw a mental blank about my next action I notice that the cigar has some pleasant leather and wood aroma, not like any other 1495 I have ever smoked, I then realize that it's probably the couch burning and that maybe I should try and extinguish the whole smokey mess.

I decide that my water will have to be sacrificed in order to try and salvage the couch and cigar buts it's too late, both are a total loss, the water goes anyways and I am left with a crappy three minute review to present for your entertainment.

Burn: Quite impressive, no corrections needed on the cigar or the couch.
Construction: Great, cigar was great and it was an Italian Leather couch, enough said.
Appearance: Pre-Inferno: A+, Post-Inferno: D-
Idiot factor: 9.9 out of a possible 10
